In all due respect, I don't think they looked at Lone Oak's QB's stats his sophomore year! It will be based on numbers in 2008. Don't forget Justin Green at Male.

True on Lone Oak's QB. Justin Green at one time was considered the fastest back in the county. I just don't think he had the supporting talent last year for him to take over in the big games, ie. X, Manual and Meade. Will Male be better in 08, ie more weapons on offense to keep defenses from keying on Green? I didn't see any difference makers at the freshmen or jv levels, but you never know what a year's growth and lifting what might do for some kids.

Josh Conner will be a legit candidate for Mr Football in 2008.Great stats in 07 also.

I believe Duece Finch will win Mr.Football if he stays healthy all year! He will weigh around 215 , works extremely hard ,has tremendous leg strength,speed and he also can bench 330lbs.+ backs like Duece don't come around very often. He will be on everyone's D-1 radar.Probably the best back from Ky since Alexander.

Josh will have a shot... unless the Birds travel by air in 2008!

 

If that is the case, then a 35+ touchdown season for Josh will not be likely and a chance at Mr. Kentucky Football will be slim! However, if Josh finds time on the defensive side of the ball and turns in a stellar performance on offense... he just may have a legit shot. Time will tell! :thumb:

Comparing Deuce and Tim is like comparing Michael Bush to Reggie Bush. Two totally different running/playing styles. Both play those styles EXTREMELY well, and it will be interesting to see who comes up with the better '08 numbers, but all that being said Tim gets a few more touches (i.e. punts, kick-offs, catches) which I think will be the difference. Sounds biased but I like Tim's chances better

If Tim stays healthy he should win it based on his overall versatility. He's the best running back Kentucky has produced since Shawn Alexander. (Mike Bush played QB his senior year)

I'm with you. I was surprised that Robey did not get some attention. I know a lineman will not win it, but it would be nice to hear one mentioned in the conversation.

Linemen are the unsung heros. Everyone would be dead meat if it weren't for the lineman!
