I wanna throw Bell Co. running back Spencer Greer's name in, second team all state last year I beleive, put up somewhere near 1,600 yards. Also I'd like to say Zack Lewis from Clay Clounty, great talent at QB.

Rule 13

Josh Conner had to be considered for Mr. Football if not for the injury. He rushed for 1719 yards last year and lead his team with 253 yards receiving for a total of 212 points for the year. He is listed as 5'11 205lbs and ran a 4.5 at the UnderArmour combine in Cincinnati. He has a lot of talent and potentially one of the better backs in the state. Good luck to him and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Looks like Coach Glaser thinks Deuce is at a disadvantage to win because he plays at St. X:

 

"My thoughts are that because he's from St. X that he probably won't get it," Glaser said. "That's the biggest thing he has going against him."

 

 

I agree, for several reasons.

 

I believe the anti-cathloic bias is stronger now than before, and X seems to be the poster child for the cause, even though T is winning the rings. Also, Glaser isn't likely to keep him in in the blowout games. He usually got one series of the second half last year, in at least half of his games. Others out in the state have closer games, thus they play the whole thing.

 

Also, there are a few possibilities in this thread that are already eliminated from winning:

 

Jerelle Greene - kicked off team

 

Josh Connor - injury

He has a outside chance, Bowling only needs 38 td passes this fall to break Tim Couch's record of 133 td's.:sssh:

Is it true that X has NEVER had a Mr. Football? That seems unbelievable to me. But then Highlands has had only 1.

I say Whiting is the front runner for Mr. Football... #1 recruit in the state and #50 something in the nation. The kid can play ball. And then if not him I stay with a combination of the big three Male, X, and Trinity. Whose ever running back gets more plays and more touches may be able to take over Whiting.
