When in all reality the admin. is just making the entire community look bad......if I lived in the district I'd be attend the next Site Base Meeting and getting some answers to my questions!

I think you took that the wrong way. He was just saying that isn't a valid excuse for Greenup County to use. I'm sure it wasn't directed at you.

Basketball (and football as well) games without pep bands just don't seem the same. Even if you're away the home team's band is always fun to listen to.

I lived in the Greenup District, but thank The GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN I went to Raceland.

It also might keep away some band members who would like to attend but don't have the money or transportation to go.

While space isnt an issue in this case the Might Dollar probably is.........I bet ladiesbballcoach is on target with his earlier comments about another district.

 

Its certainly a shame.....BUT......there is plenty of time for them to reconsider this decision.

From personal experience, having a pep band changes the atmosphere 100%. I hope this school board decides to change their mind, as I feel it will take away from the tournament.

This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. What are they going to do next say we can't bring our cheerleaders. WAKE UP GREENUP CO. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really have a hard time understanding this. Does anyone have a valid reason why Greenup Co. does not want pep bands at the Distircts? It's not a "room" issue, it's not a safety issue, it's not a KSAA issue, I just can't figure it out.

Nothing GCHS Administration does is a surprise anymore.

I'm going to pose this question of my radio show this week. I graduated from a school that had no band (at the time). It didn't matter. But in covering the Northern Kentucky schools, it does create a better atmosphere.

After going to the Mason Co game tonight and the band was not there for All State, a band really makes the games were exciting and lively.

That's a shame. These kids have played all year and now they won't get to play at their school's biggest games of the year. The Greenup Co. administration should be proud of themselves for this decision:madman:
