Seriously, there are some very good people at GC and it is not fair to lump all in one category. JMO but the Administration imo is the blame for 99.9% of their problems.

This coming from an outsider to the GC system, just what I have learned through the years. This is nothing new and imo goes way beyond pep bands.

There are good people within Greenup Co., but what people are saying is the Greenup Co. administration seems selfish and they are the not-so-good people. The administration is to blame for this, and it appears they are very selfish in that matter.

I Also- if that is how the votes went it may be the first time Russell and Greenup every agreed on anything except "We don't like Raceland." :sssh:

Hey. Raceland is caught in the middle, literally, in the middle. I feel like the Gaza Strip.

Hope they do not lose their Band Director, with the track record of coaches & now something this silly they may never be able to hire another one.

I surprised Russell voted against it. Their AD's son is an accomplished musician and possibly the best piano player I've ever heard so you think he would be all for the bands.

:laugh::laugh: I also got information that "Russell" and "GCHS" voted against pep bands at the 63rd district tournament. That doesn't suprise me at all, especially this season.

Bands add to the excitement and atmosphere. It seems to me that by allowing the band members free admission you will be picking up moms, dads, brothers, and sisters that would have to pay and that should more than make up for allowing the band in for free.

And concessions. I think there are probably 15-25 band members at Lewis Co. and just by selling a pop and candy bar that should make up for it. Losing revenue isn't a good excuse for not allowing them. And hopefully as I read in a earlier post, they will change their minds and allow them to play.

Have a friend that directs one of the bands in the 63rd. The bands are not crazy about going to games 4 days in a row and then maybe driving to Morehead 6 nights the next week. If they play the boys games they must do the girls.

When I was in pep band, we divided up into two seperate bands, so that all of us didn't have to travel so much. If you wanted to play all of them, you could. I don't know how many members each band has, but that could be a solution.
