February 6, 200818 yr We had almost nothing here. A little hard rain, a couple gusts of wind, no lightning or thunder. We got off really easy.
February 6, 200818 yr Hope everyone is able to stay safe tonight! I have a lot of family on the Eastern side of Louisville, if anyone has any updates on that area I would really appreciate it.
February 6, 200818 yr Hey guys. I'm back and safe. We did take shelter as we were under tornado warning and the sirens went off several times. The best I could see was extrememely hard rain and wind gusts of 50+ mph. The worst of the storm was just north and just south of the actual city of Danville.
February 6, 200818 yr Reports of some serious damage coming in from Lexington. A roof aparently was blown off the top of a home off of Harrodsburg Road and also on the East side of Lexington reports of a hotel sign on Winchester Road falling and crushing 3 cars.
February 6, 200818 yr What about Bell County?? Looking really bad on the radar for us I know it's about 70 outside right now.
February 6, 200818 yr Scary night, first time since I moved to this part of SE KY that I have heard the sirens go off, and they went off for a LONG period of time.

February 6, 200818 yr I have a lot of family on the Eastern side of Louisville, if anyone has any updates on that area I would really appreciate it. Louisville wasn't hit too hard.... I think maybe 2,500 without power with several trees / power lines down. My wife was driving to school to teach in Shelby County this morning and found out her school had been closed. She said US 60 between Waddy and Shelbyville looked like a warzone with dozens of power lines and trees down on homes.
February 6, 200818 yr Did it get bad out there? They said so.....but we were all in the basement, came up, and all looked good outside.
February 6, 200818 yr and also moved Transy's kids to the basements of the dorms... They should probably do a better job of telling people. I found this out when i woke up this morning. Apparently people were knocking on doors, but I slept right through that. A lot of people on my floor had no idea anything happened.
February 6, 200818 yr Author A report I got from someone in our Sheriff's department indicated that the Walmart in Cynthiana lost some of their roof and a semi in their parking lot was toppled. Anyone from Cynthiana verify that? Also heard a couple of homes in Harrison County sustained serious wind damage.
February 6, 200818 yr Looks like I was pretty lucky. They are saying there is major damage in Harrodsburg, which is about 10 minutes from Danville. Also, alot of damage in Lincoln County, which is 10 minutes the other direction. Looks like Danville was right in the middle and didn't get hit as hard.
February 6, 200818 yr Author Radio was just reporting death toll is up to 45 and TN is still digging looking for survivors. 7 in Ky. Prayers of sympathy and wisdom to all who lost a loved one.
