February 6, 200818 yr A report I got from someone in our Sheriff's department indicated that the Walmart in Cynthiana lost some of their roof and a semi in their parking lot was toppled. Anyone from Cynthiana verify that? Also heard a couple of homes in Harrison County sustained serious wind damage. I don't know about the roof, but there is some major damage around here. Homes destroyed, power lines down, windows shattered, as well as some trees down. I also heard that the bleachers at the HCHS baseball went through the backstop and are out on the field somewhere. We lost power last night for hours.

We lost power last night for hours.Grant county HS also suffered damage to their baseball and football fields. I think they said their scoreboard got blown down as well. And they can't find the visitor's bench anywhere.
February 6, 200818 yr Our winds are blowing hard. I wish that it would cool off and stay that way....we would not have this crap going on if it would. I hope and pray that everyone is alright. We have a tree that now has to be taken down. Our fence is really bad off...I think TD used her tazer on it!! LOL. I don't care what kind of damage we have (ok, I do) as long as no life is in danger.
February 6, 200818 yr I was just about to say the same thing. A few minutes ago, it was blowing much harder than it ever did in last night's storm. The temperature dropped about 8 degrees after that gust of wind blew through.

February 6, 200818 yr They should probably do a better job of telling people. I found this out when i woke up this morning. Apparently people were knocking on doors, but I slept right through that. A lot of people on my floor had no idea anything happened. Sorry to hear that dmd, but I am glad you are fine. Forrer Hall was moved to the basement area. The RA told my girls that is the first time she has ever had to evacuate due to storms. She is a sr. this year.
February 6, 200818 yr We were on our way to the High School to take our daughters car to her and we saw the most beautiful Rainbow , big and bright. The sun was shinning everything looked nice , on our way back the wind began to blow and blow it is.
February 6, 200818 yr I was just about to say the same thing. A few minutes ago, it was blowing much harder than it ever did in last night's storm. BF, I don't know about your end of town, but here in the North End, (approx. 1 mile from BF's house) it was blowing like mad. I looked out at one point and there was soo much wind and rain that it was just grey outside the windows. You couldn't see 2 feet. It was like we were in the clouds. That's when I had one foot on the basement steps. It didn't last long but it was one heck of a wind.
