Graybeard, post like the one about total domination is young people having no clue about what is really going on. Now, I feel Raceland has a very good chance to have a good season. But DOMINATE all opponents.... I do not see that happening. They play Ashland which has come down to the last possession the last two years. Then you have an East Carter team that beat them last year; then you have local rivals Russell, Greenup, and Fairview; and then there is LCA. Again the Rams have a chance for a good season, but so do all of their opponents.

There are some tough road games for Raceland this season:

 

8/29 @ Ashland

9/12 @ East Carter

9/19 @ Fairview

10/3 @ Greenup County

10/24 @ Nicholas County

10/31 @ Russell

:thumb: I'll settle for a one point win. Like I said in my post, imo the best thing that Raceland can do is to would be to not listen to all the people telling them how good they are, all of the press clippings they may very well get, especially pre season. Go out, stay focused and play football.

No One is going to roll over and quit bc you are Raceland and are good or supposed to be good, the games are played on the field, not on paper or by word of mouth .

I agree, it can be done but will it be done is the big question. Not just the Russell game, which will be an uphill climb, I certainly look for Ashland, GCHS, Nicholas to be much improved, Paris always has athletes, Fairview with some new blood in the system all to be much better........... and of course defending district champ and State A runner up LCA. on the schedule and possibly again in the playoffs. There are no absolutes.

Comparable but it remains to bee seen whether or not they live up to that team or not. As I and all others except for one has said, this Raceland team as to go out and prove it on the field and not on a keyboard. :thumb:

They only have 4 Home games but the only long trip is to Nicholas Co.. All the other away games are basically at our back door.

I don't like to compare teams as each one has it's own personality.

On paper the Rams look very good and should contend for a district title. However, the game is played on the field and the Rams will have to earn everything they get. The only guarantee I can make is that their opponents will come into the game with the mindset that they are the best team and challenge the Rams in every phase of the game.

Raceland must focus on themselves and not overlook any opponent.

Sounds like the Rams should be solid, but, until they prove themselves in the playoffs, it's hard for me to put them up there with the elite teams...Since 1995, 13 years, they've made the playoffs 12 of the 13 yrs. , been beaten in the 1st round 8 times, the 2nd round 3 times and 3rd round 1 x...No regional championships or final 4's.. I really hope you make it all the way this year, but, until you start winning in late November, there's always going to be alot of naysayers out there... good luck
