Sounds like the Rams should be solid, but, until they prove themselves in the playoffs, it's hard for me to put them up there with the elite teams...Since 1995, 13 years, they've made the playoffs 12 of the 13 yrs. , been beaten in the 1st round 8 times, the 2nd round 3 times and 3rd round 1 x...No regional championships or final 4's.. I really hope you make it all the way this year, but, until you start winning in late November, there's always going to be alot of naysayers out there... good luck

True, but, there are also a bunch of teams who have been and have had alot better success...

There are some tough road games for Raceland this season:

 

8/29 @ Ashland

9/12 @ East Carter

9/19 @ Fairview

10/3 @ Greenup County

10/24 @ Nicholas County

10/31 @ Russell

I don't think so, and any Raceland player who says that had better go back and watch the East Carter and West Carter tapes from last season, and while you are at it, you may want to watch the Russell and playoff game against LCA again as well. You had better be concentrating on winning games not making predictions.

:thumb::thumb: Absolutely. I have seen it far too many times when a team thinks they cannot be beaten they are setting themselves up for a fall. The Rams had better focus on each practice, each film session, each play of every game. When they do not do that....they are beat. "There will be plenty of time for talking after the game is won, not before";).

Having said that I will say that I am sure that Coach Vanderhoof, Maynard and the rest of the fine Raceland coaching staff will have these kids down to earth and focused.

No, I don't know why Raceland school pop up ID occurs either. It has done it to me to. I can assure you that I am not an employ of the school system. But I love them Rams.

I think that this Raceland team has a ton of talent but their downfall could be that winning football games has always come very easy for this group of kids and Im afraid they are a tad to overconfident at this point. I remember when they were in JFL and junior high, they seemed to run away with alot of games, which at the time was a great confidence builder but I hope that those easy victories havent bloated the heads of some of the players. However, from what I've seen out of this team so far during the summer has been nothing but good, hard work on the football field and in the weight room. There is alot of talent on the field for the Rams in 08' and hopefully they will have the aggressive, persistent attitude that past Raceland teams have been known for.

The pop up was kinda my fault. It had something to do with the webcast link that I provided, that is why it was removed and I re-posted it. I don't know why it happened, but it did have something to do with the webcast link, not HCT.

Over confidence is a terrible thing for a good team. If any of the Raceland players think they are going to win by just showing up to the games, they are sadly mistaken. They are not good yet, that will only be determined after the season is over.

 

Over confidence got them in trouble last season in two games. Only when they got back to LCA did they show a true championship effort. Think what would have happened if that kind of play would have happened all season. The 2008 Raceland team had better concentrate on playing every game with the intensity they showed in the LCA playoff game last season. That will carry them much farther then preseason hype.
