So at what point in that game did it look like they "shouldn't have lost" to East Carter? They were out played in almost all aspects of the game, in the second half... I wasn't at the West Carter game so I can't comment, however I did see West play some good football last year... I do know that East Carter had problems of their own last year however, I think recent Raceland v. East Carter record would indicate they certainly can't look at a game vs East Carter as a game they should win... no more so than East Carter should look at Raceland as a should win game... Seems to me this series has turned into a very competitive one...

 

JMO but as I remember the Raceland squad just flat out did not play well at al in that one. More so than that and if I am remebering correctly there were some key injuries to key people. I am not saying that to discredit East carter at all, East played well and deserved to win. No excuses. Was just giving you an answer to your question.

Also, I can't remember a Raceland team going into a game NOT thinking that they should win, if any team goes into the game thinking anything else other than they will win then they have already lost that game. Raceland doesn't win every game they play, but they have the "winners" attiude and swagger that they expect to win.

Again, East deserved to win that one, they played well and executed.

Well I agree that all teams should think they will win a game... hints why I said

All teams expect to win or should, you are correct... However it was made to sound that East is an easy win for Raceland... And most of the time the losing team does appear to play "flat" or "uninspired".... Also, I didn't bring up this game, it was already being disused by several people... so I'll assume that wasn't directed at me... I just felt compelled to express my opinion... As I am sure you would if you was reading an East Carter thread that had Raceland circled as an easy win..

I think that is great for both teams, it helps to prepare both teams for district and playoff games. I don't think either team comes into this game thinking it is going to be a cake walk and, in my opinion, if you have cake walk games on your schedule you are not doing your team justice. That is why this game is good for both schools.

Going in to the last week of spring practice, I think Raceland has gotten a lot out of the spring session. Raceland's line looks solid and several young backs and receivers have gotten quite a few reps in.

 

Has anyone heard a final day and time for the spring scrimmage?

Last I heard they werent going to have a spring game due to the amount of players participating in spring practice. I heard only 18 players have been there the past couple days. But not to worry because some players were out of town and several are playing baseball.

I've been to several of the practices, and never seen less then 26 participating and several in shorts and T-shirt.

I have heard that a certain QB from Lawrence County could be transfering to Raceland....

I heard that the same QB was bound for the Tomcats.

I think they are looking around to find the best fit for him. I dont know why any QB would turn down the chance to play at Raceland, that offense is perfect for an passing QB.

In response to kicking, I do agree Tate Preston will be kicking but others were used in JV games. I think a couple of sophmores punted and did a good job for the JV.

I hope the the Preston kid can work out well. I think that he will and suprise some people IF he works hard on the kicking game. Raceland has been blessed in the last several years with good kickers (one is now kicking for the Ohio State Buckeyes and has played in two NCAA championship gmes;)) and very good special teams play.

Agreed. LCA lost the state title to Beechwood by 3. LCA's special teams gave up a Punt for TD, a Kickoff for TD, and had a punt blocked for a safety. That's 16 points that the special teams gave up (including 2 Extra Points).

 

Without giving up those points, LCA wins state...:irked: :irked: :irked:
