Tom Larkey to Harlan?

Featured Replies

Coach Saylor? He has a great football mind and the kids love playing for him. He is the best asst coach ( maybe coach) in the state IMO. He sure works hard at it. You will allways find him in the film room at all hours of the night on the weekend.

Not Tony. But yes he is a good coach. I don't think we would ever look for a HC job, the way he has talked in the past. Very happy doing his job very well.

Yep. It will be Larkey for sure. Announcing today, I think.

on what I think is a no-brainer hire in Larkey as there new head coach.I wish Laurel Co. hadn't run him off years ago.

Is this a done deal or still yet a rumor? If this is true WOW and they got themselves a great coach!!

I need some verification on this one. At least tell if you "just heard it" or do you have a good source.

Done is the word from Harlan. Good luck to Coach Larkey.

Is Brunner still going to be interviewed?

My mistake, wrong thread. :sssh:

Best of luck to coach Larkey.

Harlan high could very well win the third in its first year with all the combined talent and Larkey coaching. But then comes 6A after that; and I honestly think they will compete with the likes of Henry Clay and such But just like HC, Male and all other non-collegiate programs, they will be watching St.X vs.Trinity in the championship every year.

If I remember correctly he is retired from teaching and will only have to coach, is this correct? I mean, I KNOW he retired from teaching. Will he have to teach or can he JUST coach football?

Not so fast!

Coach Larkey is strongly considering the position.

No principal yet at Harlan Co.

Larkey has NOT informed Rockcastle Co. of any decision.

Not saying it won't happen, it is still early

Most likely it will be 5A. The competition will include Whitley, Letcher and Clay.

Also, it's Harlan County High School.

Wow--I hope this is just a rumor. Don't leave the Rock, Coach Larkey!!!!
