Interesting about not thinking it goes on in basketball, I guess you missed the new 6'1 Freshman Transfer from Scott County that came in this year, after he was "encouraged" to join the AAU Lexington Ice which is full of predominatley Lexington Christian Kids, would be interesting to see who funds that AAU team as well and where they practice, wonder if they practice at LCA?? I guess everyone is obvlious to that as well.....by the way, the kid from Scott County,he can dunk!

I didn't miss this young man, a very good kid, and it's your contention that you know that he was recruited, or is it just your feeling that he was recruited. I think it shows very poor judgement to call out any kid on this board. This is someone that sees very few minutes, if any on the court. Maybe some of the starters should ask for a rebate? Seriously I think in this thread we should be very careful calling out young men, and making statements that you can't possibly substantiate. Accusations can be thrown around at no cost to the accuser I suppose.

Just interesting that most of their kids attend LCA, what does the name ICE stand for any way, or does it stand for anything? Guess this would fall under the parent recruitment catagory then!

Every High School team in Lexington, or feeder school puts together an AAU team. Common practice to have the kids play together.

I remember the Herald Leader saying that 16 of the 18 students in question were athletes, but did it specifically say which sport? Just curious as to why this thread is under the football forum?

It starteed in the basketball forumn and Guru chose to move to Football forumn

Bottom line is the school of LCA has cheated and they should be banned from something. KHSAA was way to nice to them in my opinion.

All they wanted was a championship caliber football team. This had nothing to do with wanting deversity.

You got it!!! The arrogance of some of these private school posters is amazing and they can rationalize anything in the name of religion and a superior education-----utter BS. Wonder why kids don't know right from wrong these days????

I don't know the answer to this and I'm just quoting you because your post was the latest to suggest some sort of banning for LCA.

Is there any provision in the KHSAA rules where for banning a school from post season play?

The KHSAA didn't say that students were paid. Only that they recieved more than the cost of tution. I understand Christian charity. The whole offering was probably given. I also know that some people who couldn't afford the tution might not be able to afford the type of clothing nessiary to not feel different in a private school. I'll bet this sort of thing will not happen again in at LCA. Thier Christian's and now understand that these actions aren't legal.I root for Raceland by the way. Lets just let this go for now.

What about the championship they won and teams they beat to get there? Shouldn't they have to forfeit or is that too harsh???

I've got a word to describe many from the public school side that have posted here but because I like posting so I won't use it.

But for all of you public school people that are calling for LCA's head I would sure like to hear your spin about why the public schools voted down the private schools proposal that would have created a real enforcement division of the KHSAA.

Were the players involved on that team?

Just like me you don't know.

I went to a Catholic private school for 12 years and will still call out cheaters every time!!

LCA won those games and they weren't domiant. I would be mad if they were taking drugs but they were not.

You're lumping all private schools into the same boat because of what one did, and yet we are the ones that are arrogant.

And I'll continue to point out what I feel are inconsistancies on the public school side every time. This is one of them. The public school side wanted no part of increased enforcement last October and yet now they (as reflected by the posters on here) want just that. You can't have it both ways.

If it was $10,000 over four years, then I stand corrected. I just understood it be for one academic year. Again, I may have misunderstood.

To be honest, I've read the article a few times and frankly I am not sure if that is the case or not. On one hand it sounds like maybe it was simply once a year deal or something but if that is the case it isn't stated well causing my confusion.
