I know, I know...But as I've said before, no matter how bad Kentucky can get, I see things with big blue shades on...I don't see much else.

I mean Donovan brings in top players every year now just like coach K, and well last time I checked he just won two straight Championships while Duke hasn't done so great in the tournament recently... Most of my argument has been based on what GT said, which really was not speculation... And no I was not just talking about last year for Duke either. In 2005 they lost in the sweet 16, and in 2006 I think they lost in the 2nd round. And as we all know from all the Tubby talk on here, sweet 16's and 2nd rounds just dont cut it for top programs...

January 11, 200818 yr I've said this a few times, and it's often dismissed as rumor, but it came from someone close to the McD's AA game production. Patterson and Lucas verballed to UK and were going to announce it at the game. When Tubby left they canceled that segment in the program... I didn't have any "top sources" as you say but I honestly heard the same thing. JMO but Tubby had Lucas and Patterson, I belive it was all but a done deal. After he left, Lucas started looking much more seriously at Fla. and went with Billy D.. BCG did confirm with Patterson that he wanted him as well and Patterson stayed with U.K.. I have heard all the BCG recruited Patterson claims but Tubby Smith had Patterson committed to U.K. before he left and Gillispie just assured him that the offer was still there. IMO Patterson and Lucas were a package deal for OTS at U.K. As for this article, although I don't agree so much with comparing schedules and the like and I really don't see the point to the guy's artice but.......I have to say that he is right, as of now I can't argue with any of what he said. I also support and believe that BCG will get this program going back in the direction that we all expect it to be. Should he not get this job done, imo what a black eye on U.K.,....JMO. GO BIG BLUE!!! GO GOLDEN GOPHERS, TUBBY AND SAUL SMITH!!! I am and always will be first and foremost a U.K. Basketball fan[/b], no other comes close but I am now also a fan of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. :thumb:

And this says what??? :confused: Both teams have just now started conference play, the records up to now have not included many conference games at all. IMO and as others have said - I don't like comparing schedules and I have also said if you want to compare so far on these two....Yes, U.K. has played UNC, I.U. (who Minn. will play twice) and U.L. but again.....People talk bout a weak OOC for Minn. and we have played the likes of powerhouses San Diego, Gardner-Webb, UAB and Stoney Point. I really don't think that we will be watching those four in the final four anytime soon. (and we lost to three of them):sssh::lol: Hopefully Billy Clyde will be able to recruit like we all think that he can (although not proven yet). If so and he can cut out all of the rumored "off the court issue's" with him we (U.K.) will be fine, BCG is a good basketball coach - he will need all of these 4 and 5 star AA boys bc jmo he will never be a better basketball coach than Tubby Smith .

And then wins the National Coach of the Year honors for taking a team that won 9 games last year, wins around 23 games this year and finishes 2nd in the Big 10. People in KY will lose their minds. HILARIOUS.

These same players WERE NOT BEATING THOSE TEAMS LAST YEAR. Same players, same opponents, different coach. Team is 10-3 (THEY WON ( GAMES THE ENTIRE YEAR LY), wonder what the difference is?
