Burglary in your city?

Featured Replies

There have been a lot of patrolling police cars in my neighborhood lately. It seems that at any given point for the last two weeks I can go outside, wait about 5 minutes and see a police car drive by. I was outside with the dog the other night and saw three go by in that time span.

You have to be careful not to grab the gun while you are half a sleep and react without having a clear mind.

That is a definate FACT! With 3 teenagers, we often have "unexpected guests" in the middle of the night. On an occasion or two those visitors have been verbally assaulted, but they walked away ok from that.:sssh:

Well, technically, only parts of these cities can be considered "upscale," but the point is still valid.

Sounds like a fellow Southsider...:D

Green Team all the way baby! :ylsuper:
My wife called me today and told me that a Fort Thomas Police Lt. was cruising through our neighborhood here on the North side and mentioned that there were a couple reports of attempted burglary. With the Holidays just getting over are any of you seeing an increase in this behavior?

He said one was so brazen as to park his car in an elderly lady's driveway and sit there for 10 min casing the joint. Another couple reports have been door handles being rattled and attempted entry even with the homeowners in the house. Stay safe everyone and lock your doors !!!! There are crazy people out there these days hooked on drugs.

Wow! This kind of thing happens in the N end of town?

Us northsiders would be fine if they put up the proposed electric fence to keep the southsiders out...

Around here if it's not bolted down, chained, locked and set in concrete somebody's gonna steal it. There also alot of people here who are into uh, harvesting and recycling anything metal. A few years ago, we lost an air compressor, power tools and a pressure washer. We figured it was a neighbor's son, who was also growing some "herb" in one of our hay fields.:irked:

No way that will happen. You need us crossing over to staff the Convenient and the Marathon, cut your grass and clean your pools.

I know they were top of the league in the 5 & 6 grade division this season!!!

I wonder if these people are in anyway connected to people(Hunters) from outside(or inside for that matter) the city limits. I know one of the fears of residents is that when the "hunters" come walking through residents property looking for that trophy deer, that they (Hunters), just might see something they might like and decide to come back later for. You know, things like lawnmowers, weed eaters, dirt bikes, things inside cars, or even an easy target inside a house.

I know that a lot of people take for granted the security of the City of Ft. Thomas. People tend to leave doors unlocked or blinds open for people to see in. Most people in Ft. Thomas feel safe and comfortable doing these things, but apparently times are changing and hopefully it wasn't because of a decision by the City!

We had someone try to come in our house a couple of years ago while we were asleep. And we live right on the main avenue!!! Our alarm has been set ever since. Just the other day the police responded to an alarm call just right down the street from me in broad daylight. Ever since the new ordinance was passed this past week to allow anybody to come in and hunt, i have decided to put away the simple things that i normally leave out and take for granted.

I also heard the restraunt in Germantown recently was boken into.
