January 10, 200818 yr Author You all oughta get a kick out of this. My mother who lives in Bellevue told me that in broad daylight someone stole one of her Copper Arbors in her garden area behind the house. Just pulled up in the alley, yanked the whole thing with rose bushes attached from the ground. She called the Bellevue police and told them that because she has another one in the yard they probably would be back and they should increase patrols that night. Well, it was the night we had storms and I guess the Police figured nobody would be trying to steal on a night like that, wrong. She said they used cutters to lop the remaining rose bushes and took the other copper Arbor. How addicted to drug or desperate for money do you have to be to do this? Broad daylight. That is brave.
January 10, 200818 yr Years ago I was getting dressed to go out and couldnt find a certain necklace. On searching for it, I discovered ALL of my good jewelry gone, the cheap stuff left behind. Even the things I "hid". I had absolutely no idea when the items were taken. It amazes me how many people will just walk in your house and are smart enough to know where to look and how to tell the bad from the good stuff. They take only what they can put in their pockets and casually walk out. I have heard of this happening many times since, often when people are working in their back yards. The thieves just walk in the front door, usually unlocked because the owners are home, and walk out with the goods. Very brazen.

January 11, 200818 yr I'm glad I didn't read this thread last night. Leatherneck was out of town and I was home alone. I wouldn't have slept a wink. Although it would have made me lock the doors which I forgot to do. LN is home tonight and the doors will be locked. I really don't think it has anything to do with the hunters. It happens more than you realize. Just read the Town Cryer.
January 11, 200818 yr No way that will happen. You need us crossing over to staff the Convenient and the Marathon, cut your grass and clean your pools. Isn't Highlands in the SouthSide?

January 11, 200818 yr My family accidently hired the local theif, that had been breaking into a lot of houses on East Second Street in Maysville, to rake our leaves. My parents did leave all of their rings and watches and valuables on the counter, then left the house without knowing he was the theif. Thank goodness that he did not go in but stole all of out food out of our outside garage refrigerator.

I agree, way to easy for some lowlife to steal and get a slapped on the wrist. Thiefs regardless of stealing or passing a bad check, Especially the ones with closed accounts need to have stiffer penalties than just a couple days in jail. Why should we feel pity on people like this when they had no intention on paying you in the first place.
