Qryche11 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 My wife called me today and told me that a Fort Thomas Police Lt. was cruising through our neighborhood here on the North side and mentioned that there were a couple reports of attempted burglary. With the Holidays just getting over are any of you seeing an increase in this behavior? He said one was so brazen as to park his car in an elderly lady's driveway and sit there for 10 min casing the joint. Another couple reports have been door handles being rattled and attempted entry even with the homeowners in the house. Stay safe everyone and lock your doors !!!! There are crazy people out there these days hooked on drugs.
Birdsfan Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks for telling us! I hadn't heard a thing about it.
PutMeInCoach Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 My cousins car got stolen at her house on Turkeyfoot Rd the other day and a friend of mines radar detector got stolen from his house in Lexington.
Beechwoodfan Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I have a friend whose elderly mother was alone in her house in Ft. Mitchell last October. Two guys walked right in her house. One stood there talking to her while the other walked through her entire house. She gave them money and they left. Now she is terrified. They know she is elderly, alone, knows the layout of her house and what she has. My daughter and her boyfriend pulled up in front of our house one night right before Christmas. There was a man sitting in a car in front of our house watching it. The boyfriend approached the car and he took off. Cant be too careful these days.
theguru Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Approaching anyone is stupid. Write down the license plate and then call the police.

Hamilton Joe Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 No community is safe from criminal activity, even the upscale communities of Ft Thomas and Ft Mitchell. Very unfortunate that some can't feel safe in their own homes.

halfback20 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I have a glock 22 .40 sitting on my nightstand in case anyone tries to break into my home. I keep it there mainly in case someone breaks in trying to hurt me or my family. Where I live it would not surprise me if someone in need of their fix broke in trying to get something to sell.

You have to be careful not to grab the gun while you are half a sleep and react without having a clear mind.
Qryche11 Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 My dog will take care of anyone that comes into my home without an invite. Well, atleast scare them with his bark. The fact of the matter is these criminals are not afraid of being seen or caught. They are so desperate because they are either looking for drugs, cash or something they can hock easily for cash.
JOHNDUNHOFT Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I pitty any fool to come into my house without knocking as they will meet "Little Johnny" and yes my wife knows how to use it also. JD

Devilman Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 We had a robbery here in Mt.Olivet last night at the tobacco outlet and pawnshop, the front has to Iron Gates so they didn't get through that way, so they got a ladder went around back and opened a door that was just big enough for a small guy to go thru. They took rifles, cigs, etc. and some change, won't people will do to support their habits. Suspects have been mentioned and a investigation is going on now as we speak.
