Mason didn't show much energy on offense, but there defense was incredible. Middleton hit three 3's early in the third quarter and Milller had a nice driving one handed dunk, other than that they played very flat. I agree with some of the other posts it was a very physical game and Montgomery County wasn't shooting free throws very well that really hurt them.

I am shocked Montgomerys big man had that many....since he did...I can only say it could have been 40.

First time i watched the royals this year and darius miller looked like a man playin against some middle schoolers. He may have only had 18 but if he wanted he could have scored 50.

I couldn't disagree more. Brandon Rash did a GREAT job defending Darius - he even blocked one of his 15' jumpers in the first half. Darius didn't have many clean looks at the basket. He's a very good player, but to discount Montgomery's defense :irked:

I'm not sure I understand this post. Are you saying that Stephens from Montgomery could have had 40 points or are you saying that Mason could have won by 40?

Miller didn't get after it....but I can say I thought the Middleton kid was very impressive.

I was just listening to the Danny on the radio, but he commented the entire time about Montgomery Co getting to A LOT of loose balls and the fact they weren't allowing the Royals any easy baskets and that they always hand a hand in the face during a shot. Not to mention the blocks and hard play in the paint during the game.

 

Montgomery Co is a solid team and if the Royals don't come to play during the 10th tournament, you could see something come down to the last minute.

 

While I agree that Darius could score as many as he wanted against A LOT of teams, it's not fair to the Montgomery kids to refer to this good team has "middle schoolers"

I see this "if he wanted to" different times in BGP post. What I have observed through the many years is that players will do all they are capable of in a game. After all that is the reason for playing!! If a frog had wing he wouldnt bump his bottom every time he hopped.
