I laugh when I hear stories like this. If this is true this kid would probably be drafted this year. Somebody's been watching the movie "The Rookie."

Yes, towards the end of the year. He looked very strong and did very well in the summer (till he started having shoulder problems). He will be very good this year.

Brandon Alford, and the Klauss Brothers should have a pretty good year for Newport. Can't wait to see these boys pitch. good luck!

He actually got his first varsity start in the Regional Semi's vs Dixie...got the win and pitched well...he did not have all his full velocity, but pitched smart and changed speeds quite well...he is a gutsy kid who, if healthy, should have a very nice year.

Newports Shawn Klaas is a under classmen but will be a good one for the Cats.

He is a sophomore. Yes, he plays basketball, likewise football. In the summer he plays for Midland.

You are not kidding!! Freshman Shaun Klauss beat #4 in NKY Highlands last year and he also won District MVP honors 2007.

Babb throws very very hard and Scott throws alot of junk pitches but very great at placing them.

I hear Allen "Chuck Wagon" Smith from beechwood should have a very good season. He is around 6'6 and word around town is that he throws in the high 80's.
