Not sure I believe that NKU offered and a ton of kids receive letters. Good for him if true...

I hear Allen "Chuck Wagon" Smith from beechwood should have a very good season. He is around 6'6 and word around town is that he throws in the high 80's.

He didn't pitch much for CCH varsity last year, that's for certain. Did most of his throwing for JV. Throws hard, but can be pretty wild. And it is hard to believe he's getting legitimate college interest - especially from the schools mentioned - having done so little pitching to date.

He told me he's been doing some throwing At The Yard and it's possible, given the lack of depth on their staff.

Come on AJ23! Don't you know that almost all high school pitchers throw in the 80's??? Just read some of the ongoing threads and you will see that every team in NKY is apparently stock full of 80mph throwers. :lol::lol:

You guys are smarter than this. You know very little recruiting is done during the high school season, it's all done during the summer. He may have had a great summer when it counted. A lot of it is luck and timing.

Please. Very little recruiting is done by major colleges of kids that haven't even played varsity ball yet. I am not the slightest bit biased against him nor CCH. Hope he goes pro. And I hope CCH comes in second in the region . But I've seen the young man pitch and find it very, very hard to believe these colleges are recruiting him.

I know Brandon Slusher out of Beechwood is a starting pitcher for the Norse..

Pat Muth of Beechwood is also the SS for NKU

Slusher has 4 innings in 14 games, Muth only has a handfull of AB's, John Back is the starting SS.

 

They got rid of the tall skinny Beechwood kid and the Paul Bearns kid from Ludlow. I'am thinking 40 something man rooster, maybe more then 2 local kids would be playing, and playing very sparingly on a loosing program.
