December 31, 200718 yr I'm worried....seriously. UK is at a crossroads. They have great tradition, no doubt about that. But I'm concerned that BCG may slide us back several years, almost like a probation. I officaily want a new coach. His game decisions are confusing. It's like he's got a look of a deer in headlights. I don't think he can handle the magnitude of UK's program. And I don't like his partying life. If UK is paying him millions, he needs to control himself. It might also help him earn the respect of his players.

December 31, 200718 yr Professor, I respect you as much if not more than I do any other poster on this board and I value what you say a great deal. With that in mind, I have to say that I hope that the "I officially want a new coach" mindset does not catch on with the entire fanbase... One because I do not feel that I can go through all of that again so soon, and two because if the Kentucky fans run this man off.. The one who was deemed a savior by many just a few short months ago than UK will get absolutely crucified in the media. I believe the after-effects will be twice as bad as they were with Tubby on ESPN. Why would any coach worth anything want to walk into this? He'd have to be at least half insane.

I agree with you. Not many can. So does North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Dallas Cowboys, the Boston Celtics, the New York Yankees, etc. It takes a special person at these places.

Hangman, I see where you're coming from...and I appreciate the comments about my previous post. But this is an unusual situation. BCG has some nightlife baggage imo. And I have heard that he doesn't always prep for upcoming games like coaches should do. Like previewing game film. And I don't like his media relationships. He comes off in interviews as short, sharp, almost a smart rump.
December 31, 200718 yr BCG has some nightlife baggage imo. The longer he's here, the more I think the rumors are complete crap. I don't doubt that he's been out on the town (before the season started), but thats about as much as I believe. The media would LOVE to get their hands on some incriminating photos, and they've got NOTHING. Its FAR FAR FAR too early to be asking for another coach. Yes, this season has been a MAJOR disappointment so far (even given the situation coming in) but BCG wasn't a 3 time Big12 coach of the year for nothing. Also, if UK DID fire BCG, who in the world would they hire as a replacement? Seriously, this year has sucked big time so far, but give BCG a chance to make it his program. If this year continues as is, and next year is more of the same, then can him, but give the man a shot.
December 31, 200718 yr BCG will be fine. He is a good coach. These kids haven't been pushed this much in practice for a long time. The difference in being at UK and Billy's last 2 stops is those teams had no idea what it meant to be on top. So they would have ran through a wall for him if it meant they would win. Now at UK he has to many kids (Bradley & Crawford come to mind) that think they are better than what they are. So he is having to kick their tails. Kind of like the military does, break you down for 6 weeks then start to build you back up when the time is right.
December 31, 200718 yr I doubt UK has an easy time finding any coach if we tell them they must win win win and better not lose right away. Especially after taking over a team that has been thru turmoils, MAC talent, lack of chemisty and little to no heart.
