I will tell ya this, I saw the game today, and on one hand was let down at the end by a teammate. Luke Walton should have been ready for the catch and shoot, but he wasn't, he was timid, passed back to Kobe, and they didn't get a shot off.

 

On the other hand, Kobe, that is your shot to take, you go get it. On the other end, the Cavs possesion prior, LeBron was isoed on Kobe. Gooden came to set a screen and play the two man game, but LeBron told him to move out and took control and made his own shot because thats what big players do, they create and make big shots in big situations.

 

It seems to me that Kobe almost worries too much now about his label as a selfish player and just can't distinguish when it is appropriate for him to be selfish and when it isn't.

 

I agree that it is Kobe's shot but they doubled him so he had to pass. Also, the difference between the shot the Lakers needed and the one the Cavs need was the fact that everyone knew they had to shoot a 3. It makes a big difference when you have to worry about a drive to the rim or a pull up jumper rather than just a 3 pointer.

I don't know what James' record is against Bryant, but Mike Brown is 5-1 vs. Phil Jackson, so assuming both players played in every game James has pretty well owned Bryant's teams lately. Down the stretch James did what it took to win the game and Kobe Bryant didn't. It maybe a little unfair, but James has led his team to the finals with no other great player on his team. Bryant has yet to do that.

Not too many players would have the audacity to admit they are the best, not even the great Kobe. LeBron, Kobe, MJ, anybody would get blasted for something like that.

I would take my chances with these guys based on athleticism and skill. They would have trouble inside dealing with Ewing and Robinson. It would be fun to watch, though.

I think the player who has gotten the most done out of anyone in the NBA is Tim Duncan. 4 championships is amazing! And he is never done it witha bonafied star on his team in his prime. When David Robinson was on the team he wasn't the player he had been before and Tony Parker and Ginobli are great players, but Tim Duncan has been the man. Hes a winner. If I could pick a player to build a team around in their prime I'd easily pick Duncan over Bryant.

I agree. Duncan is getting older and Bryant isn't better than Lebron James. But in their primes there is no question I would rather try to build a team around Duncan than I would Bryant. Right now there is no doubt I would want to build a team around Lebron James.

Kobe is better than Lebron but Lebron is so much younger thats why I would take him.
