I think with the way that the districts are rotating Mayfield and Beechwood districts will be in region 1 and Frankfort & Holy Cross districts will make up region 2. If that is true with next year being an even the winner of Region 2 will host the semi-finals. So look forward to seeing you in Frankfort next season.

 

 

This is the main reason the playoffs are not right, why should Beechwood have to travel back to back in the semi's or for that matter, no team should have to travel back to back in the semi's.

Beechwood has to be the favorite until someone beats them.

In district 1---3, Beechwood again is the lone horse, they re-load this year with speed in stead of size, don't get me wrong they still have a huge base including Mainello, 6'5" 260 NK All Star on O line,and All State Dend HM, Miller 6'4" 250 did a great job filling in at the end of the season and throughout the playoffs, Miracle not sure on size but around 6'3" 250 who before season ending injury was showing promise. Skill positions are in great shape, Tiepel, huge talent just came in to his own last year, in a shared backfield actually out gained feature back in a ltd role, also plays DB, Joe Daniels, great 2007 even with injuries, Brady Slusher at TE and Lb was the difference maker in several games last year, including State, the only question mark is qb, still a toss up. This should anchor a base of talented kids. Dayton had a good run last year, but lose to many graduating seniors. The black and gold tigers should not lose any ground, but don't see them making any headway to give Beechwood any problems. Have not looked very closely at Ludlow who they kept or lost, I just dont know, maybe future coach can fill us in. That leaves Bishop Brossart, 2nd year program, well they have a ways to go.

 

As for Ludlow, they lost most of their receiving corp and the QB. With the exception of the QB their backfield all return.

I believe Ludlow has a good young QB waiting in the wings.

He got some playing time last year when Rouse got hurt. Definitely gained valuable experience.

I saw him play in a JV game against WV and he was very good.

Hazard will be loaded next season.

No. They were fined $3,000, plus they had to pay investigative cost of $10,000, for a total of $13,000. They were also placed on probation.

That is a absolute slap in the face to high school football in Ky. I say all the class A teams get together and refuse to play them. And to all you LCA fans this statement does not come from fear, we whipped you regardless of your indiscretions.
