Is BCG really the problem.

I say we begin the "conspiracy theory" as a new angle to beat this dead horse into a pile of horse dust. Here it is. Tubby and Billy get together and Billy agrees to engineer a miserable first year so that the damage done to Tubby's reputation will be repaired when people start thinking "gee Tubby wasn't so bad after all". Then, in year 2, with Tubby's name restored to respectability, and with Billy's 2nd recruiting class in place, things start to turn around and now people will say "Hey, we just needed to give him a little time". People are now focused on the positives of BCG and are no longer focusing on Tubby since they changed their perspective on him the previous year. Everyone wins, the fans, Tubby, and BCG.

Does money change hands during this conspiracy? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

There's no way that Tubby would negotiate this type of deal behind everyone's back :sssh:

The bball Cats are underachieving right now. Billy G may be a good coach, but he is not on the level of Tubby Smith. Do you really believe that Tubby would be 4-5 with this team right now? I think 7-2 would be much more likely.

Those of you who think Brooks has done such a wonderful job in bringing the KY football team to a new level. Let's hear how good you think he is at this time next year after Woodson is gone.

I am a KY fan and it tears me apart to see them struggle like this. I hope Billy G and his staff can turn things around and bring the program back to where it belongs....on top! Tubby did leave on his own, but he knew he wasn't wanted. I think now those who didn't want him are wishing he was still around.

Those pain killers are really working well, aren't they. :D;)

This is funny. Everybody gave Mitch crap for hiring Brooks, but look how that has worked out.

DeMoss? Sure, she left, but she was a great hire. Cohen? Great hire.

I think ol' Mitch is doing just fine.

This is ridiculous. What is the obsession with Mitch Barnhardt? He's done a great job at UK. UK is struggling, so someone has to be blamed...depending on who you are, it could be Billy G, Mitch Barnhardt or Tubby Smith.

It doesn't matter...it is what it is. It's going to take Gillispie some time to get his system in place and upgrade the talent...the sooner everyone realizes that, gets over Tubby Smith (whether you loved or hated him), and quits trying to lay everything (all the blame) on one single person, the easier this process will be.

Just like the people who trashed Brooks can't talk now because their mouths are full of crow, so these people will be.

Its no secret I am not a fan of either.. but would it be mean to blame Joe Crawford and Bradley..? :confused:They are common dominators in this as well.

The problems this season have more to do with Tubby than Billy. There is an EXTREME lack of talent on this squad, and that is completely Tubby's fault due to years of lackluster recruiting. If in three years we are still losing and have talent, then maybe we can look at BCG and his coaching. For now, I can't put blame on him. He is doing all he can with a group of guys, most of which would have a hard time playing at Eastern.

Not only would it be mean, it is outlandish to place blame on 2 kids that are just playing the game. The thread has to do with blaming Mitch not the players. I love UK, but you people drive me nuts with this stuff.

Well... it's not like they are making UK a better team... Crawford is the best down by 30 player in America and Ramel has the b-ball IQ of my grandma

And I'm guessing you were an All-American in what?

Knock off the personal jabs and stick to the thread :irked:

He would probably be about the same, maybe worse. This is basically the same team as last year, minus Woo, Sheray, and Bobby. Patrick Patterson as your only frosh contributor doesn't change the team THAT much. This team still has ZERO talent, there is only one consistent scorer (maybe Meeks can make it 2), and that falls on the shoulders of Tubby.
