Is BCG really the problem.

He would probably be about the same, maybe worse. This is basically the same team as last year, minus Woo, Sheray, and Bobby. Patrick Patterson as your only frosh contributor doesn't change the team THAT much. This team still has ZERO talent, there is only one consistent scorer (maybe Meeks can make it 2), and that falls on the shoulders of Tubby.

Meeks and Jasper have been hurt thus far this season, also, Morris is a pretty big loss that you failed to mention.

Woops, I was thinking about Morris, just forgot to write it down. But think about it. Its the SAME team, without contributors from last year. Tubby got more kids that belong at Eastern. Stewart might be the only one that can play D1 ball. We add in Patterson, but he can only do so much. Meeks being healthy will hopefully give us two consistent scorers, but we still are a good distance away from being good again. That falls on Tubby's shoulders.

When you look down the bench and there are TWO guys that can score consistently, there is a serious problem.

P.S. Everyone points at Jasper as the key.. and it will be good to get a true PG on this team, but when did Jasper become great?

He has not become great, never was. But, as you pointed out, UK is without a PG. You cannot succeed on any level without a PG. Just as important he is a solid defender and good on the boards.

The problems this season have more to do with Tubby than Billy. There is an EXTREME lack of talent on this squad, and that is completely Tubby's fault due to years of lackluster recruiting. If in three years we are still losing and have talent, then maybe we can look at BCG and his coaching. For now, I can't put blame on him. He is doing all he can with a group of guys, most of which would have a hard time playing at Eastern.

This little lackluster recruiting tadbit is getting old. Was he a great recruiter now. However if you really look at the classes he really only had two bad classes. And they were the 03 and 05. And that is what killed the team the last 2 years because those bad recruits were on the same team..As for this years team, injuries is the main problem. I mean the seniors we have now were apart of the #1 class. The sophomores we have now, is a pretty talented group as well with Meeks and Jasper. However those two have been hurt all year. Then this years class, Patterson is here like it or not because of Tubby pretty much already having Patterson planning on coming here. So Tubby actually did have some talent on this team. It is not his fault that the players have been injured, just like its not Billy G fault either for the players being hurt..

Jasper is not a scoring threat himself - but he is a great passer and the kind of "lead" guard that Billy G likes to use. He will make the team better as a whole by bettering thier offense.
