December 7, 200718 yr Left tackle Marvel Smith, who missed the last two games with his back, could be back in action on Sunday. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes and safety Troy Polamalu also could play against the 12-0 Patriots, good news after both players also missed the last two games. Running back Najeh Davenport was inactive against the Dolphins because of a foot injury, and is considered questionable for the game at this point.
December 7, 200718 yr The colder it gets the better chance the Steelers have I think. It is tempting to pick the Steelers but I just don't think their offense is good enough to beat the Pats. If their Defense creates turnovers or leaves them in good field position then I think they have a chance. I have never been sold on Big Ben. I have been impressed with his growth this year though a lot. With that being said I think the Pats getting played close will do nothing but tick them off. I think Wild Bill will have a game plan that will expose Big Ben. The way McGahee ran the ball, the Steel better lean on Fast Willy a lot! I think the Pats roll on bye the Steelers then I think Jacksonville shocks the Steel City leaving them scratching their heads going into the playoffs! I also disagree on the secondary. Hobbs+Samuel are two of the most underrated players in the league at their positions.

I did admit that I thought he had improved this year. He has showed me way more than I thought he was. With that being said I'm not putting him in the elite group just yet like a lot of folks want too. He benefits from a tremendous ground game and a #1 defense. I think he has made big strides this year but I don't think he's as good as a lot of people have blown him up. He is in the perfect situation so he should be growing. I do think if the weather gets nasty then the Steelers have a good chance to win because they run the ball much better than the Pats. If the weather isn't bad then I think the Pats win the game. The guy that I think makes New England a real pain to deal with is Wes Welker. He is such a matchup problem for defenses!

On PAPER, they have the defense to do it, and if the Ravens can put up 20+ on the Patriots, then any offense in the league can do it. Keys to victory for the Steelers:(common sense) Run the ball-zero fumbles Get 7 every time in the red zone Sack Brady-pressure alone will not get it done, he is too good. Double Moss-no matter down and distance Win on first down-on both sides of the ball Win special teams And finally-have luck on your side lol
December 7, 200718 yr The Steelers running game is not as strong as it has been in the past some people blame Parker, some the O-line, some a change in philosphy. The Steelers will pound Parker because they have to but if they win it will be because Big Ben comes up with some big plays. The Steelers defense has been very good and they are not the old Steelers who blitz every down they can play very good pass coverage now. Troy P. gets all the press but Steeler fans know that Tyrone Carter, Anthony Smith, Townsend and Taylor have played very well this season. Maybe the best unit on the team. Anthony Smith is a young confident player who has been bashed this week for opening his big mouth. Moss and the other receivers better know where he's at because this kid packs a punch! Its no secret how good the Pats players and coaches are but if there is a blueprint to beat them it is to hit hard and play physical on both sides of the ball. The Patriots are getting tired and win or lose this weekend you have to wonder if they have already peaked. YOUR IN STEELERS COUNTRY!
December 7, 200718 yr Both teams can't lose so for one week and one week only I'll be a Steelers fan. Theres a reason no one has had an undefeated season in over 30 years. History will catch up with the Pats this week. The Steelers should be able to get a lot of pressure on Brady from the D line. They'll smack Brady in the mouth a few times and this one will be over.
