Bob Schneider - NCC

Featured Replies

I may be wrong but it seems to me that there is a coach at a high school off of Carothers Road in Newport that year in and year out develops and directs a quality football program. He does this without a lot of fanfare but just with the sweat of his brow. I am a fan and supporter of HHS which receives a lot of accolades – deservingly so.

However, the NCC program just like their mentor, Coach Bob Schneider, without all of the public accolades just gets things done. Saturday, December 8, 2007, in the 2007 Class 2A KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl Coach Schneider and his charges will just get things done. Monday Coach Schneider will go back to NCC and continue to get things done.

He has to be a treasure of the NCC athletic program, Kentucky high school football, and an inspiration to all of us who get things done or want to get things done.

KUDOS To that !!!

KUDO'S here too. He has been a wonderful person and a great leader of men. I have always enjoyed talking to him over many year's when I was with Lloyd scouting. I wish him only the best and he will bring number 3 in a row home this weekend. JD

Good luck to Coach Schnieder and NCC.

SEABASS said that?

Whether you agree with him or not, he does what he feels is in the best interest of the school, not the football program or athletics, but the school. Coaching is what Mr. Schneider does, but to me it does not define him. Mr. Schneider, the teacher, is who I will remember. He's taken some very unpopular stances that many people did not agree w/ and other coaches would have, and have, let slide. It takes a person secure in their ideals to do that. I would love for my sons to play for coach Schneider, Dave Schneider, or Mr. Wagner. Class program.

Upstanding coach.

This thread shoud be titled "Git-R-done".

Too bad all the other coaches are just sitting around hoping for success.

40+ years with one school is serious commitment and were glad to have him... Good luck this weekend!!!

This isn’t about Coach Schneider, but a general question about coaches like him who have proven to be good coaches and stay at a program for ten, twenty, forty years. Why wouldn’t they move to a college coaching position? Is it because they simply love the high school level, because they might take a pay cut as an assistant college coach, or some other reason? I would imagine that coaches like Schneider, Hilton (Bell Co), Haywood (Belfry), and Redman (Male) would be getting job offers from several colleges based off of their proven experience and ability. Just a question that I have wondered about.

Do you really think that is the case? I believe that most coaches work hard and I believe in 1999 when NCC went 4-8 he worked just as hard. There maybe some people who try to cut corners but I don't believe they last very long.

A coach is successful not only by winning State championships but when they turn out outstanding young men. Something I think Bob Schneider, Dale Mueller and many other coaches we have here in NKY do. I thank all those who Coach our young men. I know how my Football coaches helped mold my life, and Winning a State title is an awesome thing to do but there is more to being a good coach than putting trophies in the cases. NKY coaches do a great job in my opinion.

A class act. Here's one to honor Coach Schneider:

:thumb: A great many young coaches today should take a lesson from Coach Schneider. IMO he stands for all that is good in High School athletics and is a man of strong convictions and principile. He does what he thinks is right most of all for the kids he coaches and the school he represents. He doesn't make his decisions based upon how it might effect the outcome of a game but what lesson it will teach the student athlete that he comes into contact with. He prepares kids for life and not just for the next game..Good luck this week coach and congrats on an incredibile career. There are many who are green with envy.:ylsuper:
