I've often wondered about this. It seems that more often than not the Heisman winner performs poorly in his last game (think Gino Torretta, Jason White, Troy Smith), and often harms his draft stock. It seems that by delaying it, it would remove a bit of pressure on the winner to live up to the trophy.

 

I'm just not sure one way or another. I also don't know whether the voting should be done after the bowls are over, either.

I think you do it the week after the season is over. The bowl season that is.

One reason they perform badly is they miss a fair amount of practices due to luncheons, travel and Heisman commitments. I think its a good idea to wait.

Most teams get a month of practice leading up to the bowl. Forgive me if I don't think this is a legit reason.

Well, if they did it last season, the right man, Darren McFadden would've won.

 

So yes, I think they should wait until every game is played.

It might help in cases like Colt Brennen. I'm skeptical as to whether he is worthy of the trophy based on the competition that he has played, but if he lights up Georgia for 450 yds. 6 TD like he has other teams that maybe I would change my mind.

I don't think so. There is too much time between the end of the season and the bowl games already, give us something to talk about!!
