December 10, 200718 yr I agree with waiting. This year it would have given Colt a chance to showcase himself against better competition. I agree winning the Heisman with one game to play does put a huge amount of pressure on a player, hence so many clunkers played by past winners in their bowl games.
December 10, 200718 yr By chaning the announcement of the Heisman, or any other award for that fact, the whole intent of the award would be redefined. Essentially the regular season would mean little to nothing in selecting the winner.
December 10, 200718 yr No, it's not based on who has the best bowl game, it's whose been the best, most consistant performer throughout the year.
December 10, 200718 yr Wait to VOTE until after the bowl games, or just wait to ANNOUNCE? I like the way it is. Aren't most professional MVPs voted on immediately following the regular season?
December 10, 200718 yr It was my understanding the thread was asking only to wait to announce the winner. Not wait and vote until after the bowl games. Vote after the regular season then have the ceremony after the National Title game, correct? Either way I like it the way it is. If you vote after bowl games then players would win based solely on their bowl performance. If they vote before and wait until after to announce then winner would be run in the ground if they didn't have a great bowl performance. If Tebow goes out and lays an egg in their bowl game and then was announced the Heisman winner a few weeks later people would be all of him saying how he didn't deserve it. Leave it the way it is.
