The people he appointed sure talked an awful lot about it. Cmon guys, sometimes I can't and don't want to live the way he commands too, but it's for our own good and it's right, any way you slice it.

If it was that important why didn't Jesus talk about it. Paul also said that if you are not married you shouldn't get married b/c you needed to focus on Jesus Second coming, b/c it would be soon. Any chance Paul was confused about this?

Why does Paul and Timothy tell women not to speak, when Jesus told the woman at the well to "go and tell", any chance they were confused about this, or influenced by their culture?

One of the defining characteristics of the Pharisees and Sadducees was their dogged and prideful determination to cling to erroneous interpretation and understanding even when confronted with the Truth in the flesh.

The Book of Jude is a tiny little letter at the end of the New Testament, right before Revelations.

Jude was a physical half-brother of Jesus, raised in the same household as the Messiah. He did not accept him as anything more than his big brother until Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected, at which time Jude became a believer and a missionary of the Gospel. (Pretty good evidence for the actual death and resurrection of Jesus Christ if you ask me.)

Jude writes about true Christians contending for the faith against false Christians who have “secretly slipped in”. In verses 5-19 Jude explains the nature of the false teachers as smooth talking deceivers who rejected all moral standards and indulged in all manner of immoral behavior including sexual immorality. Their teaching was derived largely from individual subjective experiences. Jude’s main theme is an appeal to Christians to hold on to the true Christian faith despite false teachers.

I find it interesting that the brother of Jesus chose to illustrate his message with a reminder of the very real nature of the sin and punishment of Sodom and Gomorrah. He describes the very situation we’re discussing here… “…men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality…” There can be little doubt as to his intended meaning.

Jude 1:3-7 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

The Pharisees were the religious establishment, to suggest that we approach people with Love, rather than condemnation, and welcome them wherever they are in their faith walk and allowing God to change them does not seem to be subversive that seems to be walking in line with the teaching of Jesus.

Jesus does talk about it in the book of Revelation.

I actually heard something about this topic earlier today. I didn't read the whole thread so somebody else might have already mentioned this. Anyways, supposedly the youngest child is more likely to be homosexual due to the mother. Apparently it starts from the time the child is in the womb and continues on. I don't know all the details and don't buy it one bit but just thought I would add it to the conversation.

Yeah, that sounds like an assumption somebody made based on how the youngest usually gets babied. I mean, not all mothers know that their youngest will be their youngest.

That's completely untrue. Then what about certain races, hair colors, eye colors, midgets, albinos... the list goes on and on. All of these things are out of the norm but were created by your god. Are they morally wrong?

Those are simply genetic alterations . . . homosexuality is not genetic, in my opinion.

So autism is a choice, b/c it is outside of the norm, as are blue eyes and blond hair. A guess a cleft pallet is a choice b/c it is outside of the norm. WOW

By the way, how do you know God is a he?

I know that God is a he because the Bible refers to Him as such. As far as the other things you mention above . . . those are not choices. Sexual orientation is in my opinion. If you don't think so, fine, you have a right to your own opinion as do I. You can be wrong if you want to. :p

Paul said that if you were going to burn with passion, then not only should you get married, but you know the rest, and the marriage should be between man and woman. I don't think you can find anywhere in the bible where God approves two men or two women to be together.

I do not think sexual orientation is a "choice" so we will just have to agree to disagree on the topic.

I had a classmate that was a femine guy in grade school. I then said in high school that he's gay. My classmate said "no". Well guess what, he came out in college. I knew in middle school b/c of how he talked, what he said, etc. He was from eastern kentucky so there isnt much environmental factors that would have made him gay.

So, there is no child sex or mental abuse in EKY? ALL FATHERS are actively being a positive role model to their children?

We need to send people your way to figure out what you guys are doing in EKY to prevent these environmental factors cause I can tell you they are happening in great numbers in the rest of the country. And lead to problems along with sexual orientation choices.

Thats what I thought but I didn't really want to get into a debate with the lady about it so I let it fly, me and another guy just looked at each other and smiled.

there are less than 10,000 people in our county. the kid had a mother & father. the father worked in the county & went to every little league game and every event the kid had. There are some homosexuals but they do not go out openly to be seen. the closest mall is over 100 miles away. there are less than 1100 students in the entire school district.

This kid after coming out was disowned by his family. He doesnt go to christmas with his family. He doesnt visit. He's not allowed to visit. Most of his family (mother & father) don't call. Do you think that he would "choose" to be shut off from his family???

Do you know for 100% fact what went on in his home? Sometimes abuse is well-hidden. Not saying it is in this case. Just saying that abuse is not tied to a specific situation and is not always easily seen.

I think he chose his life, but did not get to choose the consequences of his choice.

There are roughly 6 billion people in the world. Of which, 2.1 billion are considered Christians. 1.5 billion follow Islam; 1.1 billion are non-defined; 900 million are Hindu; 394 million Confuscious; 376 million buddhist and 498 million other.

I am a Christian but I choose to not judge and make differences. I try not to throw stones. I try to be tolerant of others. Don't you think the world would be a better place if people pointed out similarities instead of differences.

If you think its a "choice" that is completely fine in my book but I also think its ok for me to disagree with that statement.

I think you can do both. Jesus did both.

As long as your right?? Your right & everyone that doesn't do what you do or think the way you think is wrong.
