The 6th one was Rex. He logged more floor time than Cameron Hall.

The refs were striped. Rose Hill wore blue.

I can remember one year that Rex took Fairview 0-26. They were actually beating Rose Hill both times that year by over 20 at half and lost both times to RH. And that was back when they only had "Holbrook", which by the way was my favorite all time player at RH.

I don't know why everyone is shocked by the final score. I told you guys back in November that Fairview was top notch. Plus look at the prediction thread their were several posters picking Fairview.

 

I enjoyed the game and I suppose that if Norman Dale is dead that he probably looked down on that game with great delight. I could have swore I overheard both Cooksey and Fraley asking their respective teams how many passes they had to make before shooting and then the players responding "4", how many? 4.

 

Fairview even broke out the 1970 vintage striped warm up pants. I suspect that when these teams meet again that they will wear belted short shorts.

 

Why is the big kid from Rose Hill sitting in the Fairview student section during the game?

 

I told everyone that Collins was one of the top 10 players in the region and if you saw this game you would see why I ranked him so high. He was unstoppable in the second half.

 

Jackson from Rose Hill is the difference maker. He is great to watch play and seems like a classy young man.

 

One last thing, I could have swore that I passed one or two of the Rose Hill players walking down main street after the game. Is that the punishment for not passing it to the big 2, you have to walk home? Let's hope someone doesn't make the same mistake when Rose Hill goes to Louisville, that's quite a hike.

 

Anyway, you guys keep me informed on the happenings here at home. I am off to the sunshine state to spend a little time with Hyman Roth and avoid this miserable weather.

Someone said there was a "Steve Skaggs" sighting in the gym. Maybe he is more interested in his wives alma mater than Scott County.

I think that was due more to Rose Hill's assistant coach that year. That guy was a coaching genius. :sssh:

That guy left for greener pastures. It's sad, but true. He should return and have input in some other sports possibly.

Skaggs retired from the YMCA because Bammer Nolte took him to school one day at Noon Ball.

I was there, and that was one SMALL gym! Not hardly enough room for me to stand at the end to take pics. I don't know what the number of fouls were for both teams but I thought it was a pretty well called game. The refs were letting them play down low and that caused a lot of the missed shots. The paint area was not for the timid or weak of heart.

I found it funny watching coach Cooksey prowling the court. He was all the way to half court whenever his team was on the opposite end from him. But I'll say this for him; he's always coaching. Seems like he was giving instruction constantly to his boys.
