Grade Coach Brooks

Featured Replies

Consider Brooks' tenure as UK's head coach. How would you grade him on his performance since taking the reigns as Cats' head man. Justify your grade.

I give him a B. Coach Brooks took over a probation ridden team with reduced scholarhips and has taken them to consecutive 7 win seasons and bowl games, and has recruited the talent to UK where they had a chance to win every week.

I concur.

I like his makeup.

I give him a high B. Just the fact that UK had 1 sub 4.5 player when he arrived and now has 15 speaks worlds about his ability to get some athletes. He arrived at UK when they were at the bottom, they aren't world beaters but they aren't the homecoming game anymore.

Well I give him a B+. Now we are on the map and can contend in the SEC

Anything better than a C is to much. Considering the whole of his career, the resources he has had, and the amount of success he has achieved, it will take quite a bit to convince me that he has been a great coach at UK considering the talent he has in his senior class this year.

Good Strong B. If he was flirting with A-, but the little swoon at the end of this season kept it as just a flirt and not a full-fledge A.

I would give him a B. I am not a Brooks fan, but he has done a decent job. Getting recruits to UK is hard. At least we are not the easy win on the schedule for right now.

I totally disagree. The talent that is in this senior class is a direct result of Brooks' recruiting efforts. The resources at UK have always been above average but the overall talent pool has been below average. You must dismiss your hatred of UK to see the major strides that have been made in this program the last few years. A high B is a well deserving grade.:thumb:

Not going to find many people to agree with you here, including myself. Maybe you have not been following UK football/SEC football for the last 10 years or so.

Many in the senior class were not recruited by Brooks.

And C is average, for every big win he has at UK he has two disappointing losses, I'll be hard to convince that is better than average.

LOL. He beat a #1 ranked team, was ranked in the top 10, and is going to back to back bowls.

If thats not enough, he crushed the hopes on an in state rival that was claiming to be a national powerhouse and BCS bowl bound. :thumb:

B-. He has done a pretty good job at UK. I don't think his next couple of years will be that great.

On the drive home from the LSU game this year... I would have give him an A++++

But you cant base a season or a career on one game. Concidering what he had to work with when he came to UK, and what he has done so far, I give him an B+.

I would have given him an A if they could have won a few more games this year. Loses at S.C., home to Miss St, and not beating Tennessee puts my grade at a C+. All three were very winable games and 2/3 should have been wins. Maybe I have high expectations.....
