I am on the Greenup Co side, and much like the rest of us from Greenup, we see no problem in what the score was. Greenup was pressing and playing uptempo to get practice. They knew they could not win this game at this point in the season, so might as well work on what you need for next game.

I'd be glad to explain. I feel like even if Elliott goes and plays an undefeated #1 Mason Co. later in the season, regardless of outcome, they will have a "weak" schedule according to some of the basketball pseudogurus that love to interject in these type of threads. Perhaps Elliott should have forfeited against Greenup Co. and they could have avoided artificially inflating their confidence.

 

And I think that the Greenup posters have been nothing but respectful and congratulatory towards Elliott. That's not the problem. And I am glad that the tone this season is that your coach has a plan and he's playing it out on the floor so that your team can change it's direction and attitude and be better prepared for when the postseason occurs. Stark contrast when compared to last season's drama.

If the Coach had let you play the score would probably been 192, so the Coach was wise for not playing you, so as to not offend OYPreps more than he already is. Where exactly is Elliott County located? Is the school and county very big in size? How big are their middle and lower grades because think our team has them on our basketball schedule later in January?

 

Elliott County is located triangularly (if that could be considered a word) between Rowan and Carter Counties (on I64). We also join Morgan and Lawrence Counties too.

 

Elliott County's total population is around 6800 while grades 9-12 consists of approximately 350 kids. We have one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools.

There is no offense taken. The responses were expected.

Christian County lost tonight to a Warren Central team that is down from graduating Jeremy Anderson and point guard Britt. But CC should be better than any comp in the 16th. All this score will do is reaffirm what the rest of the state believes, any top 25 team could walk through the 16th.

 

 

You were probably saying the same stuff when Paintsville won the state championship in 1996. This team is much better than you give them credit for, of course, that's what we've come to expect :fight:

Elliott County is bound on the western side by Rowan County and on the North side by Carter County and on the south side by Morgan County and on the Eastern side By Lawrence County. Route 32 from Louisa KY to Morehead KY runs through Elliot County. The town of Sandy Hook where the High School is located is at the junction of route 32 and route 7 south. Hope this gives you some idea as to its location.

I prefer to tell people that you can't get there without a helicopter. It would decrease the amount of people who cruise by the farm I like to hunt in beautiful Elliott Co.. Sometimes I see people with license plates on the front and back of the vehicle (state unnamed hereafter) like to cruise the roads late in the evening with 1,000,000 candle power out one window and .223 out the other. You just can't get to Elliott Co. I tell folks!

Here's my rhetorical question about the Elliott boys. Do they ever venture outside the 16th region competition?

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but these guys have played AAU ball the past two summers, against some of the best competition in their age group outside the state. They ain't skeerd of anybody. I am sure they have played against the quickest of the quick on the AAU circuit.

 

Now I won't go as far as predicting a state chamionship, but if anyone underestimates these guys because they are from the 16th, you are making a mistake. The Faulkner boys will get up in your grille for 32 minutes non stop. You had better be prepared to handle the ball, and you had better be in shape.

 

The folks that doubt these boys are only giving them additional motivation to prove themselves.

I don't think that there's any doubt that Rose Hill is the underdog. I don't know why it would be too late for that. Rose Hill has yet to play a regular season game. Elliott is the defending 16th region champion and lost no one. To say otherwise would be silly IMO.

I am not from Elliott County, but have spent many a day grouse hunting and some turkey hunting in Elliott County. Hope you are'nt grouse hunting my favorite spot.
