This team's very good and fun to watch but I have to wonder if they can live up to their fans expectations.

Its not the only entertainment in town. I actually skipped hee-haw to go watch to go watch the game last night.

No, but they played 15 to 20 games against top 25 teams while EC played one, maybe two during the regular season??? If you wanted a legit player to develop and prep for college level play, would the 16th be your first region of choice?

 

OY Preps, did it occur to you the 2 teams you are speaking of are 4A(the states largest).The reason they play the majority of top 25 teams each & every year is simply because they are in their regions & thats who makes up the base of their schedule just the same as Elliott & other teams have to play the base of people in their districts & regions. Did it occur to you that the big tourneys & other top 25 teams go after these teams because they are the bigger well known schools & will draw at the gate. Did it occur to you that for Elliott to get these type games on their schedule they would first have to prove themselves to others outside the 16th to get these offfers. Therefore at the time when last years schedule was made these tourneys & top 25 teams maybe didn't think Eliiott met that criteria. Obvioulsy this year the thinking is different & the schedule has improved as I imagine it will improve more next year. Did it occur to you that Elliott simply cannot turn its back on the region teams as they do seed in their district which creates at least 6 games they must play in the region. OY preps what does occur to you is you cannot stand the fact that small schools (350) across the state can produce a good team and compete with your (2000) student enrollments & that you cannot stand.

I believe a lot of 16th Region fans like myself are highly rooting for them to succeed as well. We still have heart felt feelings for a true hometown group of kids to come up thru the system and succeed and live the KY Dream.

 

Of course we wont be rooting for Elliott when the play our 16th Region teams, just every other time.:thumb:

Just wanted to let you know that it upset me so bad, that I went and changed my overalls and put on some Dockers.(Well they are actually Drockers, got them at the Dollar store, they are like Dockers though):thumb:

Typical is 44 responses on this thread regarding a game that was between EC and "Average Joe's Gym" while Lex Cath was a top 5 team being knocked of by Cov Cath and the MC vs Tates Creek threads combined doesn't even equal half of this one. That is, I guess, typical.

Sounds like good fan support from Sandy Hook & others in the 16th whileTC & Lex Cath needs more fan suppot!

Christian County lost tonight to a Warren Central team that is down from graduating Jeremy Anderson and point guard Britt. But CC should be better than any comp in the 16th. All this score will do is reaffirm what the rest of the state believes, any top 25 team could walk through the 16th.

 

OY Preps take a look at this weeks top 25 when it comes out & start a poll to see the results on how many of these teams would walk thru the 16th. I imagine you would come out on the short end of this.

So their team runs up the score and their fans run up the number of posts here on BGP... can't someone get this 16th region bunch under control?

 

I actually think it would be great if the folks in higher populated areas of the state had the passion for high school sports the way the 16th region does. At the Mason Co - Tates Creek game last night the place wasn't half full - and Creek is not a big gym.

 

If history speaks for itself I would imagine 75% of those were from Mason Co !

Where exactly is Elliott County located? Is the school and county very big in size? How big are their middle and lower grades because think our team has them on our basketball schedule later in January?

Keep up the good work ,you guys (Elliott Co) are the only thing that makes a RH fan shake in their boots.

How in the world does Rose Hill figure into an Elliott Co/Greenup Co game thread? :confused:

 

The only RH posters I've seen in this thread have either been complimentary or just asked questions about the game.

In my travels watching HS sports, I have always been impressed with the crowds that follow 16th Region teams, girls and boys. :thumb:
