I was in Fort Thomas in 2005 for the Highlands-Lexington Catholic playoff game. I was amazed how small and cramped the facility is, understandable given that it's landlocked. But the atmosphere is big-game all the way.

I was in Fort Thomas in 2005 for the Highlands-Lexington Catholic playoff game. I was amazed how small and cramped the facility is, but the atmosphere is big-game all the way.

 

You should have seen it when a corner route in the endzone meant negotiating the asphalt track and the throngs of fans standing ON the track...never been a pleasant place for visitors....

 

a) if you don't know the city, it feels like you aren't welcome to park anywhere, cause there's not a lot of apparent options;

b) once you find a spot, you begin to meander uncomfortably through back yards toward the lights;

c) upon entering, you are met with throngs of happy birds, smiling at you like you like a tiger smiles at an injured zebra;

d) after you get your bearings, you walk THROUGH your teams sideline, feeling like your interrupting an important meeting, and wander up the stairs to what you think is the 'visitor section'....which it is, but there are too many bird fans to keep in the 'home section', so you feel intrusive;

e) finally, settled into your seat, safe and excited, and before you know it, a CANNON is shot into your face!

f) finally, after you wipe your softdrink off your lap, and cough up the popcorn you are now choking on, they score again, and BANG! :0

I had 8 Deer in my backyard the other day. I am sure that if someone was meandering through someone's backyard in the Fort, there is a good chance they could come nose to nose one of our white-tailed friends. That would be better than running into Hat Lady in a rainstorm like I did the other day. YIKES!!!

Love this stadium. Great atmosphere for big time HS football.

I've been there a couple times, and I think the atmosphere there is AWESOME. The Middle School was being built the last time I was there.
