After watching LSU and Ark and UK and UT Today..I have come dislike the OT system in College Football. I know Im a UK fan and they lost, but I don't like the idea of the OT set up. I think they should go with what the NFL has in place. The first team to score wins. Many players in the LSU and ARK game get hurt and beat up.

 

What do you guys think?

I hate the way the NFL over time is set up.

I'd much rather watch college teams go into 3 or 4 OT's than watch a team drive 40 or 50 yards and kick a field goal.

College OT takes a toll on players.

The current system is fine and much better than what the NFL does. I hate the NFL setup. Absolutely hate it.

Most football players I know (high school, college, and pro) would not accept that as a valid excuse. They'd play all night, if they could.

I love college football. With tailgating and a 4 and a half hour game, it usually takes 7 to 8 hours from the time you leave home, until you return. Win or lose I still hate when the game is over.

Overtime is my favorite part of college football.

I love the college football setup even though it may take several ot's to determine the winner there is no advantage. Each team gets a chance and that's why I like it.

I like the college OT very well. The winner is not, for the most part, determined by a coin toss. Both teams get a shot to win the game, and the game is determined by one team failing to score, I don't know of a more fair and dramatic way to determine a game.

 

The argument of the game being to long, or the sport being to tough, is a non-factor as far as I'm concerned. Being in the best condition and playing to win is what the sport is about. I don't think many players or coaches would rather end in a tie or sudden death.

I love most of this setup, except that I would start the posession from the 50.

I despise both formats. I think both teams should at least have the ball on offense one time. Also, placekickers and punters should not be allowed on the field in OT.

I would prefer that they come out and play an extra quarter. But it wouldn't end when the first team scored. It would simply be a 5th quarter. At the end of the quarter if it is still tied - play another quarter.

 

But I'll take the current college format over the current NFL format anyday.
