Who wins? Why?

This will be a game of athletes. I think Central has a few more, especially with all the injuries PT has right now.

I watched Central give Highlands, a 5A team, all they wanted and more. I believe that Central has the talent and a great coaching staff to win state this year. I just wish that they would have more fan support. It was sad to only see about 20 people in the stands at that beautiful new stadium.

Tilghman's defense is pretty beat up right now. Two of their three starting linebackers have season-ending injuries and their biggest and best defensive lineman has missed the last two games with a school suspension.

 

Even healthy and at home, Tilghman would have a tough time getting Central. I expect the Jackets to roll back home with a win and a trip to the carpet.

The key to the game is can Central handle to travel time to Paducah? Will the yellow Jackets come out flat? Will the school make them travel in a yellow bus or on a commerial carrier?

 

What a match up of similar athletes. I believe this game to be a toss up, but travel time makes me give the Tornadoes the edge by 7.

I agree with you BigBird. I'm a Central fan and was at that game. They played the Regional Final last week with just a handful more fans than the FT game. I am disappointed in crowd turnout and hope, (wish), they would get behind this team. They're going to need everyone possible to make the trip to PT.

BigBird, if they make it to the State Finals ask all the FT fans to show up early to help this team on. I knew sitting up their in those stands, I was watching two state teams play five weeks early.

I also was very impressed with Central. They were big and athletic. This Highlands fan will be cheering for Central. I really think they can win it all. They just need to stay focused and finish the job.

 

Not only that, the night Highlands play was Central senior night. I was impressed with the schools they wanted to attend and the field of studies the boys were interested in. Such as accounting, law, medical, business, etc.

A valid point I failed to make in my earlier post.

 

The other time Central made a long road trip this year, they were hammered at Johnson Central. Given how competitive they were with Highlands and Manual, etc., I have to believe the travel situation was a huge factor.

 

Now that Central has been through one of those long trips, will they handle it better the second time around?

Central's tough schedule plays off with a 28 to 20 win.

With the injuries to PT, I think Central wins this one easily

I don't know much about PT, but if they don't have some studly offensive linemen, they aren't going to run the ball against Central. By far, Central's defensive linemen were the best Highlands has played against so far this year. By far. I actually think the experience our O linemen gained in that game has made us much, much better blockers.

 

And No. 18 for Central is a very good receiver. If I was Central's coach, I'd get the ball into his hands, one way or the other, at least 15 times a game. He's a play maker.

Look for PT to pull this barnburner out 24-20, to much playoff experience and speed.
