November 20, 200718 yr The weakest of the six power conferences this season? I know there have been upsets all around, but on the surface it is not "feel" like a good season in the making for the SEC. It could be that I am a UK fan, not sure. Thus far... November 20, 200718 yr Author My only rationale for this thread is that thus far, not every team has taken care of their business against the teams they SHOULD beat (some have), but in every opportunity thus far to beat teams from other power conferences, they have lost at either home or at neutral sites. The results may be similar for other conferences. But, the SEC is really good with one team, UT, and the rest are a lot of question marks. Florida may be the second best team in the conference by season's end. Just not a good feeling for the conference thus far.
November 20, 200718 yr Right now things clearly look bad for the SEC. Honestly I just don't see that many teams with the talent to compete this year against the other 5 power conferences...
November 20, 200718 yr I've got to say that you just have to give this time. Lots of changes in the SEC this season. So far it doesn't look good, but let the players/coaches adjust.
November 20, 200718 yr Too early to really tell, you very well could turn out to be right in a few months though.
November 20, 200718 yr The SEC is young and needs time... I agree, but for this year the SEC might be a bit down.
November 20, 200718 yr The SEC is definately down this year. This is probably good news for UK though.
November 20, 200718 yr The overall league, certainly appears down. I believe the talent level in college basketball, has risen greatly over the last 3-5 years and more programs, are doing a better job of recruiting. All these early season upsets, can make for a very interesting season.
November 20, 200718 yr I think its a little too early to tell, but the SEC has lost to some mediocre competition so far. We'll start to see during December when SEC teams play bigger schools (ie North Carolina, U of L, Indiana, etc..)
November 20, 200718 yr Still kinda early, wait til atleast January before these questions start floating around.

We'll start to see during December when SEC teams play bigger schools (ie North Carolina, U of L, Indiana, etc..) Well, UK plays all three of these teams, and as of now, I am not looking forward to it
