Stephen Lickert will not be the next coach at Scott. To be honest, no one around here may get that job, unless they want to be a first time head coach. No head coach will leave to take that job. If they do, I will stand corrected and eat my crow. If anyone other than Stephen Lickert takes the job, you will eat yours.

New coach will remain under his teaching contract at current school until the school year ends. If I'm correct, April 30th is the date when the school tells their teachers if they will be rehired. My guess is after that date, the new coach will have a job. With Coach Fisk being a health / p.e. teacher, it should be an easy transition.

I know Casey has been there a few years. Not certain how many have been spent as a certified emplyee. He whould be close to being tenured. So just because he is Health and P.E. may not matter.

Coach Fisk had a plan to improve the program. Due to professionalism, it's not something I can mention; but he was actively working on a plan the week before the Highlands game. The plans would have taken more than just a cermonial commitment to changes, but a full financial commitment too.

 

I think that is what will be the biggest thing to improve Scott's program. You can bring in the best football coach available, but if you are not willing to financially support the program it won't matter. To build the program you must be willing to enable the new coach to bring in a staff of his choosing at all levels that feed the program (Let's say $200,000 in salary for all the new coaches). You will need to put $50K into a real weight room, and if you want it to really pay benefits to all of your athletic programs you should look at $40,000 for a strength coach (chosen by the new football coach).

Coaching contract has NOTHING to do with teaching contract. Coach Fisk has been at Scott long enough to have tenure.

What school in Kentucky has a Dedicated strength coach?

up grading the physical plant(field,weight room, locker room, press box, stadium as a whole) has been promised to the last three coaches why would anyone believe it will happen now?
