November 17, 200718 yr Never a doubt who was going to win this one it was just a question of how much. Not a valid statement. It was in doubt the entire game until Georgia's last FG.
November 17, 200718 yr UK was in this game...Joker's play calling to start the second half was very questionable...I loved what he was doing running curls on first down and getting 4 yards in the first half...that was giving UK 3 downs to get 4 yards! Then it was like he just forgot what was working. Then UK tries to run against the Dawgs and that is where the game turned...Richt gots his guys motivated and Moreno took over...Overall, good showing for the Cats not to get embrassed by what might be the hottest team in America! I really DO NOT understand how UK doesn't kick a FG and try and onside??? UK's staff seems to get flustered at the end of halves and games!
November 17, 200718 yr Any reason why Kentucky didn't kick a field goal on 4th down at the end of the game? Wouldn't that have made it 24-16? Onsides kick and try and go score.
November 17, 200718 yr Woodson is very frustrating. It seems that he's reverted back to his sophomore year when he never knew when to throw the ball away. It cost us a potential 3 points today. And he obviously sailed some passes. Defense played OK at best. The tackling and third down defense is abysmal. The frustrating thing about this season is that minus the Florida game, the losses can be contributed to Kentucky beating themselves one way or another. Oh well. Gotta move on and MUST beat Tennessee, which I think will happen on an emotional Senior Day.
November 17, 200718 yr I have new confidence in the defense. Coach Brown and Coach Smith have worked wonders with this defense. Woodyard is the leading SEC tackler, Jarmon is the leader in sacks, Peters is getting better, Warford is getting better. I think this defense will keep getting better.
November 17, 200718 yr I was surpised to see Georgia still covered easily with all the turnovers they had.
November 17, 200718 yr Not a valid statement. It was in doubt the entire game until Georgia's last FG. I agree, not valid at all. Cats played pretty good, but mistakes, and poor game by Woodson cost them.
November 17, 200718 yr This is not an excuse. Georgia is simply the better football team. But UK seems pretty beaten up right now. The O line did not play well at all and Woodson made some mistakes holding on to the football too long, but it would be nice to see better protection as well. As for defense, Georgia just kept running it at us and we don't have the depth to be able to stop them when you have players like Myron Pryor and Corey Peters (briefly) go down.
November 17, 200718 yr I agree, not valid at all. Cats played pretty good, but mistakes, and poor game by Woodsen cost them. I also agree!!! But IMO 2 plays beat KY today - The blocked punt and the Woodson sack. Don't get me wrong, I really like Woodson, but when he alluded the first tackle and got out of the pocket he MUST throw it away. His sack took us out of field goal range and the game. I really hoped Woodson would play great against GA and TN so he would get an invite to NY. But after this key mistake (and of course the loss), he isn't heisman material. I love the guy, but you gotta get the job done!!!!!
November 17, 200718 yr What started off so strong for UK ended so quickly. A lot of good memories though and hopefully something to build on. But it doesn't matter does it, it's bball season in the bluegrass?
