By passing laws that have very high fines and mandatory jail time for the hiring of illegal aliens. Also make it legal for an employer to ask for proof of citizenship if there is a question surrounding a potentail employee.

That's the whole problem with the current system. The employer usually requests a Social Security card and drivers license. Unfortunately, there is a thriving business of fraudulent document creation, and the illegals know exactly where to find them.

 

A better idea would be a requirement that all Social Security numbers be verified with the SSA.

It is illegal for a person to sell drugs, should every drug dealer be shot.

It is illegal to abuse a child, should every child abuser be shot.

Punishment should fit the crime. Honestly, I do feel that capitol punishment is very under used in our society.

You can't cure this problem overnight. But you can take the needed steps to fix it for future generations. Secure the border, first and foremost. Then slowly start sending them back. You can't do a massive roundup, but every time one is arrested, don't lock them up and eat more tax $, send them home. It will take years, probably decades to fix this problems. But get started on it now. The longer we wait, the worse it's going to get.

 

There also needs to be an amendment to the constitution changing the automatic citizenship of babies born in the US. Babies born to illegal immigrants need to be deported, along with their law breaking parents. Anyone who comes to this country illegally is breaking the laws of this country. They are showing no respect for our laws or government, and deserve no respect from us. Send them home!:madman:

 

I Completely agree with upholding or strengthening the laws on illegal immigration. However, I completely disagree with a person being born in the US not being eligable to be a citizen of the US.

While I understand one's position to "send them all back", I find it harder to see how we are going to accomplish that without spending lots of money. I would rather spend those billions of dollars on health care, helping our infrastructure, etc than to just spend that money to deport individuals that will come back in a week or 2.

 

Sending them back does not make the cost of the crime outweigh the benefits.

No, because they aren't that different from you and me. For the most part these are conservative, hard working, church going, family people. They want to apart of our nation not turn it into the mess of a country they came from.

I've not seen it discussed among the "We're all imigrants" crowd, but there is a difference in coming to America to live, to be a part of the American way of life, to seek religious freedoms and opportunities to raise our families as opposed to simply sneeking across the border, looking for jobs and sending money home to Mexico. In other words, it seems that folks are coming here for a different reason than what our ancestors did and I don't think economic opportunities carries the same sense of loyalty and love of their new country as do some of the other reasons I mentioned.

It is historically inaccurate to say that European emigrants didn't do the same thing that Mexicans are doing by sending money back home. This was EXTREMELY common. The only difference is that it is easier to make a trip back to see your family every two or three years.

Just curious what is the difference that allows a drug dealer to be shot but not a drunk driver? Which is most dangerous and causes more deaths in our country? Or is it just because drunk driving is being accepted more readily by those who have been drunk before?

My daughter went to Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville. It was founded in the 19th century when Nuns were brought over from Germany to teach the daughters of German immigrants IN GERMAN. How many of those families do you think have failed to assimilate? It is an old story. The first generation doesn't assimilate so well. The second generation is bilingual. The third generation is American in language and culture.
