Their problem isn’t my problem; their problem is at this point incurable.

I give to cancer research, for adults and children. Why? Too many family members and friends have it or have died from it. Last time I checked, they didn’t break any laws. Just got dealt a horrible disease that kills and has no cure. Children with cancer touch my heart the most, they haven’t even begun to live and in many cases have been given a death sentence.

Yeah, those illegal aliens have it tough.

Secondly, you care about people, children in particular, that have at least one horrible circumstance. Your care and concern is to be commended.

 

Those of us that want to help illegal immigrants feel deeply for these people to. So, when you ask why their problem is our problem, I could say the same question of you about children with cancer (I wouldn't though...I support several causes in that area...St. Jude, American Cancer Society, etc.) My point is we can care about people regardless of the outside circumstances.

 

Is it really so horrible that there are familes that are trying to find a better life in our country? Ones that could never raise the money at home to come legally? Why would it be so horrible to offer these people (the ones that don't break other laws...yes, they came illegally...but other than that they are good and are here for positive reasons) a chance to NOW become legal and to begin to be productive to our society?

We can't just open the flood gates and let them all in. You have to understand that. Do you realize the problems that would create?

You are a good caring person, I know that. As hard as it may be to believe, I am too, but we have to draw the line somewhere. At some point we have to say, enough.

I am continually amazed by the number of people on here and elsewhere who claim we should pull everyone out of Iraq because they didn't do anything to us and its not our problem, and then come back in the illegal alien thread and claim that their poverty and search for a better life are our problem.

While I understand one's position to "send them all back", I find it harder to see how we are going to accomplish that without spending lots of money. I would rather spend those billions of dollars on health care, helping our infrastructure, etc than to just spend that money to deport individuals that will come back in a week or 2.

Does anyone consider it a threat to our long term security to have such a large number of aliens taking up residence within our borders? I've not seen it discussed among the "We're all imigrants" crowd, but there is a difference in coming to America to live, to be a part of the American way of life, to seek religious freedoms and opportunities to raise our families as opposed to simply sneeking across the border, looking for jobs and sending money home to Mexico. In other words, it seems that folks are coming here for a different reason than what our ancestors did and I don't think economic opportunities carries the same sense of loyalty and love of their new country as do some of the other reasons I mentioned.

I'm not referring to jobs or money. I'm talking about an actual overthrow or drastic change in our government or way of life brought about by a group whose numbers are growing drastically both by illegal immigration and procreation once inside our borders. An invasion.

I would say that a good number of our immigrants throughout the past 200 years was coming because of American society which is DRIVEN by the American economic power. Remember the American dream is an economic dream.
