Coach is over 21 and has the American freedom to do as he wishes within the legal limitations set by our local and national laws. Also, don't think that EVERY OTHER FRESHMAN that has ever played ball at UK didn't drink and party. I can name numerous examples of players partying it up on the club scene in Lexington AFTER a loss. They're college kids and they will party.
November 19, 200718 yr Just because he's our coach I don't think we need to make less of this than it is. Mumme would make stupid comments about drinking and then losses one of his players in an incident where it was involved. While Gillispie is of age he is also a role model or should be for his players. In my opinion being to drunk to drive and legally drunk are two different things, but not in the eyes of the law, so I would say this is where the personal driver comes in. I think this is BCG taking no chances as far as a DUI, because I'd be willing to bet you money that's part of the contract.

This comes out how many moms will be wanting to send their baby boy to be coached by a drunk?

Facts of the matter are, the University does not want to be embarrased by BCG. They are trying to make sure that they have the option of removing him before anything embarrasing can occur.

Not sure that UK wants the type of recruits Huggins brought to UC, characterwise. Can't speak about KState cause I don't know anything about them.

Let me spell this out for you - He did not have a personal driver when one of the incidents occured - meaning he was driving....... He is a man of influence and while he is single, he is a figure head, he should not be caught skinny dipping at the Carriage House with 18-23 year old female students of the university he is employed by. Let's not veer from the path and keep the discussion on Coach G., not others. I'm beginning to wonder, if the stipulation wording of the contract, has language that may be addressing some of these issues by the Athletic Department or their Legal council. I'm assuming here but this contract may/may not get done, if all of this is accurate.
