Wait one of you say you do and the other says you don't.

Help me is it against the rules or not?

For the record, in the last 15 posts or so there is only one private school supporter on here. I'm just tired of the whining because people can't win...

Who is the selection committee made up of?

Small group that includes the Admissions officer, Head Guidance Counselor, and Members of the Board of Trustees.

And for information, it's not like Lexington Catholic turns down thousands of applications a year. Nearly everyone who applies, and pays the application fee will be accepted. LC has room for more students.

Okay, my main point was that it's not made up of old football coaches and current teachers...correct?

What kind of answer is that?

I admitt I don't know....

You say it is a rules violation.

I believe that it is a double standard.

Sticky, you are probably thinking of the financial aid committee that is supposed to be an outside agency.

Cover, isn't that right? The decision that is made on financial aid is the outside agency, correct?

I don't know of anything you put that is explicitly agianst the rules, because I didn't see anything athletics specific. Now is it the best use of tax dollars, depends on the school districts situation. If the district needed to spend the money on these things to attract more students, then maybe that flies.

Yes. The company approved by the KHSAA is called FAIR, and is located out of state. All applications are only based on income, household statistics, not grades or athletic prowess.

I'm speaking in hypotheticals, surely you know that. I can't do or get done anything I mentioned. I wish I could because sports mean alot to me.

I'll bet anyone on here, anything you want to bet, that the KHSAA will not answer the question if ask by someone like me. No way will they get into that.

BTW, any incoming freshmen must take a placement(not acceptance) exam, must pay the application fee, and fill out the FAIR finaincial aid form. It is very similar to entering college as a freshman.

Give me some time, and I will try to find an official answer from the KHSAA for you.

You're right. It's the financial aid portion.

I will copy and save the first portion of your post.

Okay AtB; I am reading some of the provisions and Case Studies of Bylaw 10. I am not a Lawyer or a KHSAA official, but I feel confident in what I see:

A representaive of the school may initiate a meeting with students at a defined feeder school, or with students zoned to attend.-- I would assume that if a School district was designated Open Enrollment, that district could initate a meeting with all students in whatever area the school board deemed its open enrollment status went to.

Of Course this meeting cannot be specific to athletic opportunity.

When you said, "...you do and the other says you don't." I thought you were referring to our schools. Just clarifying that I nor LBBC are private school "advocates".

As for a double standard, private or public it doesn't matter. I don't understand. They live by the same set of KHSAA rules, it's just that one decides if they want to be publically or privately funded.

Me being considered a private school advocate just made some of the posters on here fall out of their chair.
