Too institutionally different

Don't misunderstand, when I say anyone's, I mean those that attend other districts.

I think if we in KY went to some type of multiplier, we would have to take into account all of the differences in schools, not just public/private, or open enrollment, or we would still have some of the "problems" we see.

I agree, I do not like a multiplier.

Just as sticky said. ONLY you control your own bondaries. The KHSAA has no say over your boundaries. Nor does another school district.

With the exception of being out-of-state. The KHSAA has been looking into the banning of that boundary.

I see no to minimal difference in school districts that have open enrollment and private schools that draw from multiple counties.

I think that with these moves by the TSSAA that there is no room for anyone to say anything. They are operating under the same policies. Not only rules by the TSSAA but school policies for admissions and aid.

Are there separate rules in KY?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that proposed comprimise, something like 30 miles? Wouldn't make a difference for Jefferson Co. open enrollment schools though would it.

But currently? ;)

The kids that go to ST. Julian Catholic Grade school in Bell Co. have as much right to go to Bell Co. High, as they do to go anywhere they want.

I agree agian, where we differ is that ST. Julian needs to have athletic boundries. And the other things I have mentioned need to be regulated. I know that is not right for them, this is why I say that a split is the only answer.

Different policies. You have said it yourself that tax money can not be spent they way private can. There is no answer except for a split.

Tax money and KHSAA have nothing to do with each other.

Let me rephrase that question. Currently are there different KHSAA rules for publics and privates?

Do the kids at St. Julian play for thier own middle school teams, or do they participate in another youth leauge? I don't know.

I have never said that there were different rules. Advantages come in different policies for admission, financial aid, and I don't think that public would be allowed to do the things that private schools do to get students.

Why should a kid that goes to a certain elementary school be locked in to a certain high school?

And if they were locked into a High School by going to St. Julian, they would have to go to thier only direct feeder---Lexington Catholic High School.

CC and I just answered most of your questions, admitting that a public school can do all of the same things that a private does to attract student athletes. Problem is, your public school would now be deemed private, and that wouldn't sit well with most.

There are zero restrictions on what they're doing. ZERO!!! If your public school wants to do that, have at it.
