December 13, 200718 yr It's ours I guess. This is why we want to split from you. You have proven the difference. So can we split from you Sticky. Of course if you split, Sticky will still be right with you.
December 13, 200718 yr Obviously the only way anyone can sue is if funds were used to attract students and it didn't work. I'd say that it's the district's problem because they hired the people in charge. If they're dumb enough to go forward with a bad plan, maybe they should be sued. Again, it's support... It doesn't matter which plan we use we can not do it. Can we split?
December 13, 200718 yr Of course if you split, Sticky will still be right with you. Type that slower and he may get it...

Absolutely not. As a taxpayer, my district is responsible for educating the students IN OUR DISTRICT. Using funds to draw students outside of the district is in direct conflict with the mission they have been given by the state of KY. Whether they draw students or not is irrelevant. They should be using those funds, whether fundraised or not, to improve the education level of the district and not draw in students that they are not responsible for educating. That could VERY EASILY be the mindset of someone that would sue for misuse of funds and they would have a very good argument, IMO.

December 13, 200718 yr It doesn't matter which plan we use we can not do it. Can we split? If you're fine telling your kids that they aren't as good as kids that go to a private school, even though they're the same age...that's your perogative. I prefer using things like that as motivation, you can use them as a crutch and continue to hinder the growth of your kids.
December 13, 200718 yr Type that slower and he may get it... We have never complained about Highlands in that way. We will not. You can come down here on any Thanksgiving you want.HAHAHAHA

You're telling me that someone could sue Ludlow for the ad they took out a while back for misuse of funds? Why, in a city like Ludlow whose school district is hurting for money, hasn't anyone done this? Probably because they know if they attract more students, they'll receive more funds. Therefore, there will be more money to educate. And Ludlow is a very fine academic institution...

December 13, 200718 yr It's my 1 vs your 15 athletes because of the adv. But you have 20 more students than Highlands...
December 13, 200718 yr It's my 1 vs your 15 athletes because of the adv. I think people overstate the advantage of more athletes because of Open enrollment policies. Can you tell me how many starters from other private schools do not either live in the county that school is in, or did not attend a direct feeder school to that Private school?

Problem is that you raise the tuition level to the amount that truly helps you garner more money and they cannot afford it. Remember no financial assistance to public schools. They pay the full amount of tuition unless the previous district releases state funds and I don't think that happens a lot.
December 13, 200718 yr But you have 20 more students than Highlands... You're not private I'm not complaining about Highlands, and never will.
