Alex Matthews was 30-52 for 497yds and 9 tds for Shelby.

 

Jordan Burke had 11 catches for 221 yds and 6tds for Shelby.

I think Shelby probably believes that four teams in the playoffs is a pretty good idea. Great win for the Rockets.

This was some incredible comeback by Shelby. I was following fatdad's updates and at one point, I think it was 49-19 Scott Co. around halftime. What a comeback. Unbelieveable.

Shelby County is very good and has had some injuries throughout the season. They can score with just about anybody when Matthews is playing.

 

But the defense is soft.

 

Matthews' nine TDs ties the state record for most TDs in one game. Not sure who all has it but I heard the TV say three guys. I am sure one was Gerry Ahrens from Male in the late 90s. He threw like 6-9 every game.

 

The six TD catches by Burke also tied the state record.

 

What a great effort by the Rockets. I have seen Matthews 2-3 times this season and for the life of me can't figure out why colleges don't like him?

Defense played about as bad as anyone can the first 3 quarters, but in the 4th quarter they got the big stops when they needed them.

 

When you figure out why they don't like him, please let me know!

Wow, I looked at the update thread and Scott Co. at 1 time in the 1st half was up 29-7!! What a huge comeback! Gotta be heartbreaking for Scott Co.

When you run your backs half to death and they have to go and try to cover the other teams recievers on defense what do you expect in a high scoring game like this. Shelby made adjustments at the half and Scott co did not!

Coach Mckee teams have never been able to stop a passing team.To much smash mouth football I remember when Dunbar use to come and throw the ball around.
