I think that the HHS/COV CATH game was a pretty good game, also the HHS Trotwood game was pretty good. I need to know if you are only counting games played in NKY, by NKY teams. If so, I still think that Highlands/COV CATH was a lot closer than the score showed. I am nervous about them meeting again in the playoffs. I have no doubt that Beechwood/NCC will be a good game for a few quarters. IMHO the game will get out of hand in the 3rd or 4th and NCC will kick it into overdrive. Remember all those years that Beechwood ran up the score on NCC? I bet that the Breds do! I also bet that they wont hesitate to return the favor. Not out of bad sportsmanship, but because the Tigers and Cov Cath are those two teams that you have to blow out in order to seal a victory. If you leave them and opening, they will be back in the game before you know it. Have to be a homer on this one and root for the kids that come partly from my hometown, GO Breds!!!

 

I don't remember Beechwood ever running up the score on us. Yeagle was nothing but class. If we can't tackle third and fourth team running backs, that's our fault.

Good point. But there were a few years that even their JV teams at Beechwood were pretty good and like you said, if you can't stop the younger guys, that's your fault. I like your attitude on that.:thumb:

I've been around awhile and don't remember any scores being 'run up'. I would think that no current player would, either. So, I say the players are just looking for a good game and not taking anything for granted. They all know that they have to be their sharpest, and well-oiled machine.

I didn't realize that it was 2-5 in favor of the bad guys the last five years. I hope that NewCath gets one victory closer to evening that tally tonight.

But at the same time, you know that when the JV and maybe some Frosh get in the game, they are going to play their hearts out since this is their chance to showcase their talent to the next level's coaches. So, when some teams see passing and scoring deep into games, it may be the JV or Frosh doing it and you can't get mad about that. Who is going to tell a kid on the bench all year long that he should go out there but not play his hardest?

Perhaps you read it wrong....the GOOD GUYS are favored 2-5, :lol:

Personally, I would rather go into this match as the underdog.

 

You are correct mexitucky, neither Beechwood or NCC have ever run the score up on the other. Check out the scores in this morning's paper. The games have always been nail biters.

 

I do not recall a single game where either team put in their JV or Freshmen. All that is usually left after this game is exhausted varsity players.

 

Good luck to both teams (with a little more luck wished for the Tigers). As we mentioned before, lets hope no one gets hurt.
