In 1999 Newcath was blown out 49-0 by Beechwood and that year Beechwood and Bellevue were the top dogs.

I think he meant 2000. Although I believe NCC was district champ in 94? after beating Beechwood but was eliminated in the playoffs by Beechwood. A few of the other games from 91 to 99 (I believe NCC won the only meeting prior to 1991 and that was in the mid 80s) were somewhat close but Beechwood for the most part was winning the regular season game easily and of course beating just about everyone in the state in the playoffs from 91 to 99.

Maybe it was 2000. I was whenever Jeff Smith took over as QB. You get the point though.

Going to be a close one as I am sure all of you have predicted. It's going to come down to WANT!!!

If my memory is doing any good, since '91, Beechwood is 20-6 against NCC.

Beechwood wins this one in one of the best games ever between the two. Although last yrs playoff game was very exciting to watch w/the wrong team coming up on the short end(bad call but that's another thread).

Does the game really matter .Why would either coach risk injury to a player going into the playoffs .I understand the hype between the 2 ,but they do not have to face each other in the playoffs now . JMO

As a Newcath alum and superfan.....I have to say that this game is one of the greatest experiences that any student or player can have. Though this game doesn't mean anything for neither team, this can be a great indicator and great game for your team to play in so that your players can feel that playoff pressure type kind of game.

Not bad call... bad luck by the Tigers.... I sat in the front row for that game...it was the correct call.

Wow 10 FG attempts???

I wouldnt be surprised......Newcath attempted six field goals in the playoff game last year making five of them.....that was the difference in the game....the kicking game will play a huge role.

I hear Beechwood is counting this one as the 1st playoff game.

Then I guess they are hoping it is two and out..

NCCs kicking game has really struggled this year has been better of late but still not good

Film does not lie:sssh:

Is this game at Newport?

BEECHWOOD:fight:

If you were sitting in the front row, did you have your back turned? It was not so much the call, but the length of time it took him to throw the flag. If a ref thinks he sees an infraction, the flag is to be thrown then and there not waiting to see if the play is made. This guy waited till the ball was thrown and caught for the td, and the go ahead score, before he evan reached for it. And the guy he called it on was a good 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I just hope that both teams emerge from the game without injuries. Both are on track to hit the carpet and it would be a shame for either to get de-railed by injuries..

Amen to that!

This game will be so physical for both sides.

Please be careful out there, and remember the next few weeks are what REALLY count!

Good luck to all!
