Does anyone know anything about how good Saint Charles is doing this year? I think they are Ohio Division II. The game will be up in Columbus. Should be interesting.

They are somewhere around 5-4. They have around 600 or so students. Love to run the ball. And it is their senior night.

Well St. Charles is a pretty decent football team. Since the Colonels have lost to both Bishop Watterson and Columbus Desales in the past, I could see this game as an opportunity to beat an Ohio football team. Does anyone down there care about this game? I attended Convington Catholic and was hoping to show some friends what the Colonels tradition is all about. I have lived in Columbus about 4 years and I am pumped to see the Colonels coming to town. St. Charles is having a year similar to Cov. My guess is that you will not see a lot of Colonels in the stands.

At a glance, it seems that this could be a very good game against two fairly evenly matched teams. What do the CCH faithful have to say about this game??? I'm surprised there's not more talk about this game.

 

Given that it's the second-last game of the regular season for CCH (with a visit to powerhouse Louisville Saint Xavier looming next week), this game and the momentum (whether positive or negative) it generates could be huge for CCH's prospects in the playoffs, especially since next week's opponent (Saint X) is not going to be indicative of the level of competition CCH will face in the Class 5A playoffs.

 

No one should dismiss CCH from making some noise in the Class 5A playoffs this year. It's been a rough year, to be sure, but star player Buckley is back and Furnish is really playing well. The defense has played relatively well, too.

A "normal" CCH team would be a big favorite in this game, however, given the landscape and overall health of CCH, I'd say it is (at best) a toss-up.

That would be great news and also the fastest recovery in history. Has anyone else heard this?

Isler is back at QB after missing last week with a bruised knee. Perhaps with Buckley healthy and Furnish being his reliable self, this offense can mix things up a little. I think a little variety in the running game will keep the defenses honest and give Isler a little more breathing room to open up the passing game. We are going to see how bad CCH has missed Buckley's input up to this point. Lets hope it is not to late to get this going.

He is attempting to come back and play with it. That is all that I know.

This will be the first game all season with CovCath's entire group of skill players in tact. Buckley came back two weeks ago against Elder and wideout Matt Klare and wideout/tight end Jake Punch will also be back this week. Also quarterback Zach Isler is fine after missing last week against Holmes. It took a while but the Colonels are finally almost completely over the injury bug that plagued them all year. Knock on wood for the rest of the season.

What is up with VanSant? Will he play any Offense? I remember that Coach Rodenberg thought that Isler to VanSant would be a play that would have excellent results.

I saw VanSant on O on the highlight package of the Holmes game...not sure what extent he was in though.

They have to eventually beat one of these Columbus teams, why not now.
