St. X's new stadium is the nicest facility in the State maybe the best in all the surounding states as well. It may not have the history but it soon will. It is realy nice. I am not even an St. X fan. It is just that nice.

Trinity's is 2nd to none that I've seen but I love watching a playoff game at David Cecil Memorial.

You can't beat a Beechwood vs. CovCath game at Edgar McNabb Stadium (Beechwood).

You beat me to it Blue :thumb:. Putnam and Tank two are by far the two best places to watch high school football game. Both are very historic and filled with tradition like nowhere else.

 

Of course a homer vote by me would also include Ram Stadium in Raceland.

imo just about anone would say their home field / stadium was special.

 

Ram Stadium is great also. I remember many games there. What made it special was the artificial turf on the track in the endzone areas.

Lawrence County's was nice but when they built a new track and added new seats they moved the fans farther back from the field and that alone takes away the advantage LC used to have when their fans were lined up behind the fence on the track only a few feet from the field.

My personal favorites are Trinity and Highlands.

Actually Ashland's stadium is pretty awesome.

 

Soccer has ruined atmospheres at several of the Lexington schools' football stadiums.

I guess there could be a couple of ways:

 

Damage to grass.

Football striping superimposed on soccer striping.

 

Not trying to put words in anyone's mouth; just a couple of guesses.

We have all the room we need and people can sit on either side. Have you been to John Hardin or better yet WKU? Both are great places to watch a game and have similiar set ups as X. We have plenty of room for every game except Male. Is it conventional, no, but it is top class.

 

For the record Manual would be my favorite but needs new lighting, restrooms and concessions. I am pretty sure X would still be there if updates had been made or we could have bought it.

War Memorial Stadium in Mayfield could be considered old and out dated but when its packed, you can't ask for a better atmosphere.

Have fun sitting on the vistors side of your own stadium during games because Trinity didn't build enough seats for their fans and alumni.

I could agree with both of these, but neither have anything to do with damaging the atmosphere at a football stadium. The atmosphere is made up by what goes on around the field, not what's on it.

Highlands is pretty cool... Danville probably my favorite…always a great atmosphere, field is always in great shape, the stadium is cool looking and of course the tradition there is top notch.

The number of seats isn't the big problem. Why did they put them so low? I stood on the top row behind the players and couldn't see the hash marks. Also, why spread the seats over such a long area? Is it possible that someone involved with the design was trying to increase home field advantage by putting the visitors in a hole and spreading them out in a long thin line?
