BCS Rankings, 10/14/07

The computers appear to have a love affair with South Florida, while most humans do not.

USF is really starting to get love from the humans as well...If they go undefeated they are inthe title game without a doubt.

The SEC Championship game winner gets an automatic BCS bowl bid, other than that it does come down to the rankings and the at-large BCS bids. I don't think they have ever had 3 teams from the same conference in the BCS games, I could be wrong though. I don't think there is any rule against it though.

There actually is a rule against it. Wisconsin was a third highly ranked team from the Big 10 in the BCS last year, but since OSU was in the championship and Michigan the Rose Bowl, Wisconsin was relegated to regular bowls.

If UK was ranked where they should be in the Coaches and Harris poll, ahead of Oregon, West Virginia, and USC they would be #5 right now

If we can get past UF then we can start worrying about it

UK is 7th.

Crazy thing is.... If LSU can run the table & get some teams to fall (USF & BC). They could find their way back in the Title game with 1 loss.

Kind of like Florida did last year.

Since everybody seems to be jumping on the Bull Bandwagon, all of a sudden, I'm preparing for the mass exodus if they do lose. I hope nobody gets hurt, but I expect a fair amount of trashing to happen.

What ever happens from here on out, win lose or draw, this program has arrived. The coach is dedicated to the program and he and his staff has already proven that they can evaluate talent and recruit. The team is young. If they don't make it this year, they will soon. Hope springs eternal.

The ticket prices can't be beat either. :D

I agree. Get past Florida then we will start talking BCS. What a season so far for the Cats!!

This poll shows what happens when teams in the stronger conferences knock each other off and allow the teams in the weaker conferences to rise to the top.

Which would be relevant if there were more than one non cash cow conference team in the poll... :walk:

The funny thing is that as sure I'm sitting here, UK will still be the underdog this coming weekend...

The computer rankings in the BCS calculation have UK even higher.

1. South Florida

2. LSU

3. South Carolina

4. UK

5. Ohio St & Arizona St (t)

7. Boston College

8. Va Tech & Kansas (t)

10. West Virginia

The strength of schedule (or lack thereof) is what has hurt Ohio St and Kansas here.

Rat,

Win, lose, or draw, S. Florida is a very good Football Team.

My point is relevant regardless of which conferences bring the $ and which don't, but I understand what you are saying.
